If you get all of the crowns from the bosses and talk to him in the memory, he will reinforce them which means if you die wearing them you won’t go hollow. Pretty cool but at that point there’s nothing else to do and it doesn’t carry over into ng+

Ds2 was actually my favorite souls game, and I’ve played em all since demons souls. Only one where there was a reward for overwhelming victories in the coliseum, the red invader fire, plus majula and its music kinda hypnotize me.

First time DS2 feels quite clunky and may put people off from playing it. But the next time you come back to it with more knowledge you start to appreciate it as well as the world and lore of it and the fact that it pre-dates Elden Ring with powerstancing and the choices of progression. While in DS3 when you get stuck hiting concrete wall for 5 hours, DS2 just says "got stuck? You can explore other places" which is something I really appreciate.

Yeah I’m replaying the series and coming from DSR, DS2 feels like my analog sticks are broken but after a while I started liking it a lot more. The fights feel slower and more methodical. Even when lightrolling you can’t spam it like you can in DSR and DS3. Although sometimes it just gives you more time to lament your mistake before you die.

This platinum from the trilogy definitely isn't the hardest, Dark Souls 3 is! The amount of covenant farming you have to do in that game is unreal and your patience will be TRULY tested. I did not once but TWICE. Once on PS4 and just recently on PC never again lol

Next challenge: No death no bonfire run. You get two very interesting rings. You can't die, obviously. You also can't rest at bonfires, but can light them for a respawn point (homeward bone teleport), which means... 1. Can't attune spells other than you start with. 2. Can't teleport 3. Can't restore equipment durability with anything other than repair powder and restoring broken equipment at a blacksmith (which you can't visit whenever you want because of lack of teleports) 4. Can't refill estus 5. Can't burn subline bone dusts (upgrades for estus) Also need to be cautious with which bonfires you light. Don't want to go from Undead Crypt all the way to Aldia's Keep (path contains Shrine if Amana and Drangleic Castle) because you've lit every bonfire on the way and can't teleport back to Shaded Woods or Majula with homeward bone. You are allowed to teleport to Majula with the primal bonfire after getting each of the four lord souls. Careful planning for durability is required for any weapon other than santier's spear.

@@fbwiwuehwwkwidbwnqkeudb4255 in DS2 Scholar of the First Sin, they put a ridiculous amount of enemies everywhere, but in plain ole dark souls 2, the enemy placement is much more tame and actually enjoyable. Also, the item placement is different and it makes for an item hunt where key items are found in places far from where they’re used at, it makes it much more interesting and fun. The version of DS2 that everyone plays is scholar of the First Sin cause they enhanced the graphic for it among the changes I listed as well as other changes.

I love DS2 got over 5000 hours between Xbox 360 base game and Xbox One SotFS edition. Got all the achievements on 360, still got a few to go on Xbox One. Though I just love how different it is, animations feel nature and the armours look great, weapons feel really nice and casting is really unique. As much as all the stats are more spread out and with adaptability, I still think it makes total sense from an RPG stand point, like how Hexes scale differently to Pyromancy while using the same stats. I also adore the NG+ system and how you can reset an area at any point to upgrade it into NG+. Dark Sous 2 did some amazing changes that I wish carried on through into Dark Souls 3. Which visual was an upgrade but mechanically felt so much like a faster paced Dark Souls 1.

I love DS2. I only know it as SotFS but still. I got the plat for every Soulsborne except Sekiro and DS2 was no more tedious than DS3. I found them both equal in terms of the covenant grinding, but it wasn't dreadful. I kind of like the grind in these games though.

Honestly this one has to be one of their easiest platinums. Ds1 and 3 have more grinding with the covenant items and knights honor. The only grinding in this game is the 30 sunlight medals and kill 30 invaders while on the blue sentinel covenant; both didn’t take very long.
