This game is so weird. The bosses and fights are mostly really easy and gimmicky, but the weird cryptic systems in the background and annoying level design lead to more cheap and annoying deaths than anything else in the series.. it's both the easiest and the most frustrating souls game lol. I kinda wish they just remade OG dark souls rather than this because this game is loaded with ideas that just don't work at all IMO. The world tendency shit is needlessly convoluted fluff that adds no real depth, just arbitrary annoyance

Bro I was in the exact same situation 😂, had 3 playthroughs and had to have a friend help me get the pure white character tendency and then I had to finish the game and kill phalanx and then speed run the entire chasm of despair just to kill astrea for her soul, man I almost gave up but I pushed through, currently almost done with ds2 but man that blue smelter demon boss run is just pure torture

You think it was bad? One red phantom yeet itself of the clif and I had to go to ng++ and on ng++ I forgot to buy last miracle before killing saint urbain (I had the boss soul that I needed, just forgot to buy iy) and I didn't have backup save so I had to go to ng+++ but I didn't kill Penetrator and King Allant yet. Killing Penetrator on ng++ with black world tendency and black character tendency was so hard that I just beat the game on new save file to get all miracles.

Man, I was going for the all white tendency run (which sucks) and tried to do all the npc quests all in the same run, it was going great until I got all the way to the end of the game and noticed every single world was pure white except for world 4 and I remembered there was a that one hostile npc that wanted the sword back or whatever and you HAVE to kill him to complete his quest but it counts AGAINST that world’s tendency….. yea it pissed me off so much when I realized my mistake.

Patches glitched out on me and turned hostile, even though I made sure that the lava bearbug never touched him. Wasted a run there. And the fact that all boss souls are needed for spells meant you pretty much have to play the game without the best spell or weapon sucks. I’m so glad I played it blind the first time on PS3.

Some of the "Mistakes" you sayed you done in the first playthough aren't mistakes on that point. You have to play it more then one time for all trophies anyways so if you kill the dragon god with hands of god in your first or second playthrough dosen't change anything for platinum.

Just finished the game twice and quit because of how hard the platinum would be to get. NG+ make enemies so much harder while not making you any bit stronger. I needed one more ring and 6 more spells and I would have had it but then I would of had to play the game 2 more times and F that sh*t.
