@@hastur2905 to be honest, I would rather play elden ring pvp than ds1. I'm not saying that ds1 pvp is bad, but elden ring pvp is more polish and refined in it's core, in comparaison. That's to be expected of course, since, at least, a decade separetes these two games.

honestly i would say the opposite, soul memory may not be the best balance system but it sure helped to preserve activity (specially with blue acolyte mod)

As someone who's recently been replaying ds2 and invading a lot, I can attest to the fact that finding good people to play with is hard. However, I'd like to mention this one invasion to a dude in brume tower, where after leaving him with a sliver of health, I didn't want the fight to finish, because he played so clean and was so nice. So, I cast warmth to heal him, we both got back to full, and we fought again. I did the same after leaving him with a sliver again, but that time he decided to give me the win and just jumped off a ledge. Still, since finding good people to fight against is so hard, one must take every good opportunity we can get.

A common thing with dark souls invasions tbh. Ig best experience in dark souls 2 is arena battles. Problem with them is that invasions have funnier scenery

it’s also (in my opinion) the best pvp in the souls series. back step s, proper accounting for latency, methodical combat, a distinct lack of super “meta” or “op” weapons that are basically just scrub magnets, the only issue for matchmaking is soul memory honestly. i remember back in the day sl 250 being kinda popular but nowadays you either find people at like level 400+ or level 100. still fun if you can ever get into a match tho.

Ds2 may not have the best pve but it definitely has the most balanced pvp out of the souls game. Ds1 is broken. Ds3 has unbalanced damage. Elden ring is stale with the weapon arts and unbalanced weapons. Nothing beats the level of strategy in ds2. When you lost you still had fun in ds2.

All weapons have broken hitboxes, everything has broken hitboxes in ds2 Yea life gems heal over 1 or 2 seconds but are also faster to use than estus and you don't need to stand still like when use estus And I like ds2 I invaded alot there I just prefer faster and smoother combat like in Ds3

it's slow paced; punishing and getting punished felt fair. the back stab isn't (as) jank as ds1 and spamming rolling doesn't get you out of any situation unlike ds3 huge build variety also and there is no fighter pl :>

You probably got unlucky, and I've only been invaded 1-2 times in my average playthrough, I sent to only see the rare hacker in belfry sol every blue moon and it tends to be a random guy waiting for bell keeper invaders rather than them trying to invade

gyrm great helm, jester robes, havel gaunlets, havel leggins ... yeah average tryhard armor for no backstabs, poise and defence and then either an axe in the off hand and greathammer/axe in main hand and just so rings for poise, stamina regen, damage and idk what 4 ring agape ring or any other ring if you just wanna do invasions on 44 sm tier

Healing (and particularly with estus) is bad PvP form and disrespectful, it basically disrupts the very notion of a build (if you're chugging as a DPS you're technically a tank as long as you're chugging, stuff like that). In short, healing is a PvE mechanic.
