c this actually happened to me in ds1 but reversed. One hacker hit me and somehow stole my stats(to say, before the hit i had 30 in dexterity,after that it returned to base value). I heard a patch was introduced because of that, but i was already banned by then.

Tip for low level invaders: Fire Dagger is a baby Chaos Dagger and can deal upwards of 800 damage on a backstab without Hornet Ring (to hollows, but still.)

At SL185 where I mainly do Invasion and PvP (I'm not a fan of the SL125 meta, I like having more than 2 stats at 40 points) I ran several time into hackers. I remember several in particular in the Grand Archive (I love invading people there and do ambush, the verticality of the map allows for some nice things). One just poked me with his dagger and I immediately died to "Curse", and several time I ran into players who I just didn't deal any damage to. Some even outright ignored me. I could lock on them but I didn't deal any damage, while they were taking damage from mobs and simply focused on clearing the map till I gave up. However those are rare example. Most invasion I did I simply run into ganks, or ragequit-pull-the-modem-plug-players, or some that just went into hiding. Very rarely I found players that actually fought back. You could think that, at SL185, most players are in NG+ or NG++ and aren't that much scrubs anymore. Too bad, they still are.
