It seems to be completely random how hard Yhorm decides to beat on Siegward. On one of my runs the time it took me to run directly to the sword and the 2-3 seconds it took to equip it was all it took for Seigward to die because he wouldn't get out of the corner.

Ya can thank the Pontiff for torturing her till she went hollow and became the dancer and turning the broody he-she moon brother-sister that was behind the Gwyn statue into the Devourer of God's. Cause fuck our childhood companions apparently with Orenstien becoming the King of Storms, Smough becoming Vordt, Solaire becoming the nameless king, Gwyndolin becoming the Dancer, Gwynever becoming the Devourerer, Sif decaying in the Farron Swamp, Artorias eternally doomed to fight himself reincarnated as Farron, Gilligan building us his last ladder so we can reach the bonfire he made out of his own soul, Siegward traveling all over Lothric/Lordran to find and kill his best friend Yhorm only to then kill himself afterwards, and the protagonist of the DS1 becoming the Soul of Cinder. This game is just filled with a whole bunch of sadness, it's game of thrones without the tits or diplomacy.

This is still one of my favorite videos mainly because either way, Siegward dies. If he kills yhorm, he has a heart attack afterwards. He dies during the fight, he also dies permanently. Literally the only way to keep him alive is to unlock his cell AFTER you kill yhorm, and it’s hilarious to me

He probably had a chance to cast his protection miracles in your game. he usually does right off the bat but sometimes he'll decide not to and just die in one combo.

He probably ate Yhorm's combo twice. It's possible for Yhorm's AI to do them back to back and he kinda just eats it like a big greasy onion flavored burger. This can especially happen in NG+ or ++

Look at how little damage the storm ruler is doing to yhorm, hes probably on ng+ or ng++ meaning yhorms damage scales up where as onionbro stays at your scaling, so in other words he gets rekt real fast.

Its apillar being raised, and pillars are an important part of a structure, which it provides support. symbolizing how the area you are in has lost support and all has gone to hell, but with help, you can stabalize the structure, or integrity of the area. rekindle the flame or not. you might need a hand in each to do the job. totally just bs'd all of that.

wait a minute, the statue looks like an early cannon. The fish's mouth is hollow, or at least highly indented. So, you have an initial part at the top of the pole with an open cavity, and a long stick behind it that someone else is supporting. There are probably plenty of other explanations, but if that's right, that is very, very weird for the series.
