PixelHunter Ikr. Gael's friendship with the Unkindled is one of the best things DSIII did. Honestly the only things I would change would be that Filianore was Gwynivere/QueenLothric and if Father Ariandel was Priscilla. Disappointed that they kept adding new lore that will never get answered instead of answering some of the big questions. It wasnt that good lorewise, but Gael was possibly the best kind of boss to end on. Bittersweet I guess.

Basic advice for Midir: - Stay in front of the dragon so you can bait his physical combos. He usually leaves his head down after every attack, and that's what you want to punish. If he starts breathing fire, start moving to the side, depending on the fire attack that is. - Don't ever go under Midir, unless he is currently doing an attack that involves moving forwards, meaning you won't stay under him. - If he does his super attack, which is very easy to recognize, start by running at an angle towards him. The first attack aims for you, so running at an angle will make you avoid it. After the first attack just run straight towards him and then wait next to his leg or something until the attack combo ends. - Lightning is his weakness. Dragonslayer Axe and Dragonslayer Greataxe are great for this boss fight. - Don't summon for this boss, as some of the dragon's attacks are very reliant on the target's position. Namely his flying firebreath attack, which can be avoided by running to the left. If you still have to summon a person, summon a player who knows how to fight the boss. Anyone who strikes his tail or legs will end up being cannon fodder and nothing else. - Give it a boop with a torch. No real reason, I just want see someone else do it for lols. :P P.S.: Gael's fight arena is the background from Dark Souls 3's boxart. We also saw this area in the opening cutscene of the game.

good strategy dude. I did this in my 3rd play through and it worked well. The easiest and cheesiest method is to stay under him and cast pestilent mercury whilst running to his tail avoiding fire ect remembering to dodge tail swipes.

Tactical Strategist, you mean Wolf Knight Greatsword/Artorias' Greatsword. Unless Farron Greatsword has that same effect, but even then I'd suggestion Artorias' sword due to the flip attack which can deal up to 1000 damage on the NG+7 variant of Midir.

Remember how everyone was saying the city was timeless? They weren’t joking, The Ringed City was outside the regular flow of time in order to make it eternal. As long as Gwyn’s final child stays asleep, the city is eternal. Guess what time does after you decide to let it catch up. The ‘desert’ isn’t a desert, it’s the entire planet after time caught back up to the end, now buried under miles of the ash of countless dead people and kingdoms. Hence why you just “killed the world.” You jumped forward in time to when it was long dead.

first : 0:32 there are two illusionary walls in front. (both) [sorry for my bad english] second is the last remaining boss : 1. 0:40 there is a path just when you exit the room by stairs.( where gwyn's statue is) 2. you will see a contraption 3. then on your left there is place to jump out while the contraption is moving. 4. in the right side you will find a place to jump down to get to gwyn's statue to get the chloranty ring+3. 5. in the left path there is a room with a lot of statutes. 6. hit them all to find a hidden path leading to a ladder. 7.after that you will find a room with chairs and a way to jump down. 8. there will be shira's summon sign for the boss fight if you haven't already killed her. 9. jump down( you won't die) 10. I highly recommend using dragonslayer great axe or dragonslayer spear. he'a also weak to bleeding.

The way i understand it, is that all of this is for the sake of painting a new world. Gael promised to bring paint for the girl in the first dlc so that she can create a new world. Thus Gael went in the search of the dark soul and found the pygmy lords who hold it. The blood of the dark soul was supposed to be the paint but it had dried up. there was no way to actually rejuvenate it other than to consume it... so he did. The blood combined with his and he went mad... and you killed him to get the rejuvenated blood. Essentially this allows you to finish what he started and bring an end to the dark souls franchise. The new world is an open question... but i'd like to think of it as a world born by blood... if you catch my drift.

Fillianore(may be spelt incorrectly) was in that room trapped in eternal slumber, because her father, the king didn't want her to become infested by the "dark soul" which has infected the world, slave knight gael, when he says, "is this the blood of the dark soul", he is saying he has become infected and he then develops immense powers like many other people/bosses in the game who have second phases. Im no expert on the lore but I thought I would share this to help.

At least Aria can paint a new world now. A world painted with the power of fire and dark. The way the original world of Dark Souls started. So basically: Gwyn made the first sin, which was trapping the beings born of dark by branding them with the Dark Sign. The Dark Sign eventually spread all over the place until the very world was branded with a Dark Sign (Which you see in the sky in the main game). The world is going hollow. The entire world is dying. Gael wanted Aria to paint a new world because Gael knew the current one was dying, and that wasn't only for the Painted World. Gael has been around since the time of Gwyn fighting the Ancient Dragons and has seen a lot of shit. But he knows that perhaps with the power of the Dark Soul and the power of the flame cycle of the Painted World it might be possible to create a new, big world to overlap on the current dying, hollow world. At least, that is how I understood it. The way I see it, Aria painting a new world can be seen as the Final act of Miyazaki in the Souls series. Miyazaki has painted a world to inspire the people that enter it and in the end he dedicates the Dark Souls series to each and every player by letting Aria name the new world (Possibly all the new games that Souls fans created through the inspiration of Dark Souls) after the players themselves. A beautiful way to close the best game trilogy ever created.

Late to the party but I find the Ringed Knight Paired Greatswords to be exceedingly effective against bosses that stagger quickly - Gael and Friede are two. Friede can get stunlocked for the entire duration of your attacks, while Gael gets staggered out of his attacks every few times L1 or L2 connects. Naturally, missing leaves you wide open and exposed to attacks with these bad boys, and at times Gael himself won't stagger in time. I found myself being slapped by his sword anyways, but praise hyper armor. Fighting Gael with RKPGSs is a matter of who stuns who first, and that of being more cautious with them - if Gael happens to dodge as you initiate the combo, chances are you'll get hit, a la any huge weapon with a huge recovery time.
