The Dark Souls scythe is called that because when farmers were conscripted into war, they'd take the "grim-reaper style scythe" they used for farming, took the blade off, and then mounted it vertical like that to use as a weapon. Then someone figured "this actually works pretty decent as a weapon" and made a new weapon like the altered scythe, but attached it that way in the first place. Everyone still called that "new" weapon a "scythe" because it was close enough to the modified scythes people would fight with. Like how the "battleaxe" and "handaxe" are still both just referred to as "axes" unless you're trying to specify one or the other.

30:13 Bleed is a status associated with slashing weapons. Poking small deep holes isn't a good way to make something bleed profusely, unless you happen to hit one of the points that do. Slashing a big cut open on the other hand pretty much guarantees it.

In all these games I usually end up doing a few characters where I primarily level up only a single 'damage' stat, and then using only weapons that scale primarily with that stat. (Of course Str builds sometimes need a little dex and vice versa to equip the higher tier weapons) I've always found it really helps give a new perspective on the game. Areas that were baby easy as a melee build (long stretches with lots of enemies) become tough as nails on int/faith builds with limited spells. But then also some enemies you can abuse their elemental weaknesses significantly more with int/faith, especially noticable in Elden Ring thanks to some enemy types having huge weaknesses instead of the more mild ones in the earlier games. Ripping through a tanky enemy with fast-firing combustion spam feels like heaven compared to slowly rolling and counterattacking one at a time. Only one I've not really done is a ranged-only playthrough. Always feels like it would just be boring since you can stay so far from enemies and hold ridiculous amounts of ammo. I think Elden Ring may be one I do that in thanks to the actually notably different ammo types and ash of wars making it more interesting than jumping/rolling shots in the earlier games because it had the fastest animation. Also thank you youtube for clarifying that this is Dark Souls 2 under the video description. It's not like the first 2 words of the title literally just say what game this is. Emerald Herald looking kinda spider-y though.
