Actually Gatling guns ( not chain guns and although not one handed ) have been around a lot longer than you would think. I think they go back at least as far as the civil war so its possible they were around in Victoria era id have to look it up

Awesome video! Something that might help with future runs that require a ton of bullets is something I learned doing a Simon bowblade run. Slotting in 3 of the communion runes actually give you far more bullets to work with than using the formless Oedon runes.

Logarius was certainly the hardest boss when I did the a gun only run, with the longer startup of the gatling gun I can imagine that would’ve gun even worse. Great job persevering, even if you had to revolve around to some other bosses to up your damage first

Orphan is the only boss in the series that doesn't feel unfair but I also can't get it down. It never takes toooo many tries, but it's still on edge every time, unlike O&S or other popular roadblocks, that feel much easier now.

I got it first try, but I definitely don't feel like I earned it. The Saif animations just kinda dodged a bunch of his attacks for free, mostly. I did end on no vials left, no bullets left, one, maybe two hits from death, and killed him with my last molotov. I also threw a rock at him by accident, so...

I actually like that you started the run with the gun. It can be a bit of a slog watching some challenge runs get started and sometimes it is detrimental to follow the challenge religiously. Like when there is one small obstacle preventing the run form continuing and they just end the run early. I’d rather see the run all the way through knowing that a few rules had to be broken.

I really appreciate the fact you chose to do a niche gun run, and I appreciate it even further that you stayed true to the nature of the run, the sheer lack of glitches, save for the funny chalice, is commendable, and the fact you did every single notable boss in the entire game save for chalice dungeons is incredible, especially seeing as the other gun runs that come to mind, namely ymfah, use a heavy focus on parrying and dual weilding and abuse of BMA, frankly i didn't think the gatling gun had enough damage per bullet to beat the game but you sure showed me! honestly really impressive work.

That pulsing gem for Orphan was the best part of this run. Passive regen is bae, especially on bloodtinge or arcane because you'll never be fully out of options until you run out of patience. Edit: Definitely want to see more Bloodborne runs, BB and DS2 are my favorite games for challenge runs because they have the most weird little tactics to take advantage of, like pulsing gems for infinite blood bullets.

If you didn't know, you can actually make the Hemwick witches boss even easier by entering the arena a second time with zero insight since you'll automatically get one for entering the first time. Just activate first, bail out with a hunters mark, spend your insight and return. The witches won't be able to summon any shadow things to slowly lumber around the arena at you so it just becomes a basic game of hide and seek.

I am a little late but noticed that the damage numbers matches with the bullets spent (like each damage tick cost one bullet) even with the gatling firing 5 or so shots per bullet, so I assume the gatling works like the sprayer guns. Where the instance of damage is counted once per bullet spent, but you can hold the button to keep the hitboxes going between each bullet.

Idk if you know or not but there’s antidotes in the back of bsb arena, blood bullets actually scale higher with blood tinge so they do more damage so it’s more optimal to max vials instead of bullets

Some tips for if you do more BB in the future. The elevator window in Mensis is much more consistent when you're taking the elevator up. Going down is a crapshoot. If you stand way out in the ocean against Orphan you'll have more room to breathe and the lightning call it does in phase 2 will be a joke to avoid.

out of curiosity, in a run like this where echoes both for bullets and bloodtinge/hp levels seem to be super valuable, how come you bought the cathedral ward gate key instead of getting into the ward via the bottom of that platforming section in upper ward with the old workshop? just wondering if the captain mark has some utility or items it gets bc i always use the path in the bottom of upper cathedral. sick challenge btw
