people saying gwyn is disappointing because u can parry him have absolutely no dramaturgical sense. in my opinion it's the only way to end off the game, this titan of a boss trivialised by the parry mechanic, it subverts your expectations right at the climax of the game and by doing so delivers gwyn's unspoken character arc so succinctly. dark soul's bleak and depressing world/narrative does not deserve an epic climax of great proportions, and as seen in the cutscenes that follow it it's not a very triumphant victory in the first place
