I watched a LOT of Screwattack back in the day, so I'm VERY familiar with Destin. When I heard his voice in the videos for the Dark Souls 1 video, I did my own digging and found an interview he had with the original owner of Screwattack, Stuttering Craig. I swear, as an OG fan that interview was closure I never thought I needed. Everyone who worked for Screwattack for the most part went on to have incredible careers. Death Battle has Chad and Ben, which used to be part of Screwattack in the first place. Corey went on to be a voice actor. Jose went to LA. And Destin? Basically one of the guys that RUNS IGN. I'm extremely happy for them.

Stuttering Craig has also still around although he did retire for a few years to raise his kids and started a supplement company. Recently he’s come back to the Video Game/Pop Culture space with a podcast called Side Scrollers. He didn’t have to but he didn’t like where the industry was going and decided to come back for the fans to try and restore some of the good old days. I missed out on the original run of ScrewAttack but I find Craig incredibly likable and he’s surprisingly based. SS has sneakily become part of my rotation as he’s a good host and has great chemistry with a lot of people.

I love how these videos are almost a love letter to the old IGN style guides. I remember following the dark souls one specifically as a kid with my brother as we tried to figure out the game. Was a super entertaining way to receive some help and guidance in games when we got stuck. I enjoyed them so much, and had limited access to new games, that I would often read the guides and imagine what the game must be like in my mind. Spent numerous afternoons that way when I probably should have been focusing on my school, haha. Been loving this series and re-experiencing all the guides they put out that were in this old style!
