PiggyMcCult they both are right and also the first 15-20 lvls are super fast you barely have to do much especially if you pick up al the starting souls you can find on dead body's and even more if you do this and get the sliver serpent ring then like the first 30-40 lvls are super quick

A tip for people attempting to do this, or similar things, hold your shield in your right hand, keep your weight below 25%, and two-hand the shield. This basically raises the stability stat by about 20% when you block, making it easier to ignore enemy blows, and keep running.

I recommend not resting at the Patches bonfire. It saves you a couple seconds initially, but if you don’t have the lord vessel yet, it saves you the pain of getting all the way back.

Meh, I like that he actually bothers to show the shortcuts and how to handle Pinwheel with the summon this early. Most guide videos of the sort don't care about showing the proper routes like this.

BTW, in my current playthrough (my first time playing this game, in fact), the only thing I did differently was backtracking by foot, since I wanted the bonfire close to Patches in Tomb of the Giants lit and kindled, so using Homeward Bone wouldn't benefit me much. It's what I recommend if you're not feeling confident about doing this by using the 2nd bonfire in Catacombs last or lack the proper practice/experience to get it right as shown in the video.

In case anyone decides to use this prior to unlocking fast travel between bonfires, DO NOT use the bonfire in the Tomb of the Giants. It may make getting the ring more manageable, but it makes getting out of there RIDICULOUS.

If you take another shortcut down through the catacombs and just ignore all bonfires, your homeward bone or death will take you back to Firelink, which is way faster and spares you the hard trek up.

1 tip: the necromancers using pyromancy will not respawn if you kill them. the skeletons do not drop souls unless they are the giant ones in the graveyard

a hidden door? that is why I got stuck when the 2nd bridge turned back after I tried crossing it. I quick-rolled back to the ledge before it could rotate completely.

If you would like, you can pick cleric, or another class that has close to 10 Str 10 Dex and 14 Faith and use your first few levels to get the str, dex or faith required, then you can get "Astora's Straight Sword" A really nice sword that has Divine attached to it, which will perma-kill skeletons until resting at a bonfire, if you haven't killed the necro controlling them. oh by the way, the sword is located near the zombie dragon in the valley of the drakes, and will wake the dragon 10/10 do not recommend fighting at low level, possible yet impractical.

I will accept the challenge of most NPC enemies so I can gain souls from living, undead, or hollow enemies. the skeletons are not worth much, but since they deal bleed damage and can be problematic in groups, best to get rid of them.

the first fog gate is not the boss? good to know. I'm ok with long trips as long as I'm prepared. I have the complete elite knight set and I fortify each piece when I can. I also have a divine Flachion +5. the flachion is in the swamp below blight town, accessible early if you have the master key. can be fortified to +5 with titanite shards but will need accending and green titanite (collect from the leeches, which drop 100 souls each) to improve it to my current blade.

You don't need Leeroy to fight Pinwheel. Granted, I've faced Pinwheel between levels 69 and 120 and absolutely trashed 'im, though I suppose my RNG in the first playthrough was kind enough to grant me equipment from every Black Knight prior to the Kiln

I made an idiotic mistake while doing this: I rested at the next bonfire (it may not have been seen in the video) near the first Skeleton-dog, whatever that thing is. I now cannot seem to find a way to get out of the tomb. I've tried exploring around a bit, and I have found enemies that kill me with ease, or a dead-end. (I'm not well it enough equipped to fight all of these things, I've tried many times already) could anyone help me out? The bonfire I am talking about is the one near Patches. when he is in the tomb, and kicks you off if you go over to a specific edge.

If you go to the bonfire near the long bridge where you fight the Taurus demon (the one grades by a red dragon) next to the bonfire is a mini tower take the ladder down kill the rats, go back to the bonfire, rinse and repeat. You can now farm humanity!
