Two nothings who've clawed their way forth, from the very bottom, to the very top. Two wastes of space who've put everything on the line to reach their goal and final destination. Two undeads, one a slave, one unfit even to be cinders, locked in battle over what little remains of the Dark Soul. Two knights, at the end of the world, with no-one there but themselves to witness their glorious clash. Truly, this was an appropriate ending. A final battle embodying the true spirit of Dark Souls.

Iundex Gundyr is my fav, loved the first part of the fight against Gael, but even if the second is even more epic, it loses the feeling of an honest dual between two warriors, as magic enters in action.

I disagree, Orishina. The first phase of the fight is more like you trying to put down a mad, bloodlust-filled beast that just so happens to be using a sword. The second phase is Gael properly, utilizing his full strength as a warrior. The third phase is just ridiculous and flashy, and I love it, but that part I'll agree with you ruining the whole "honest duel" part.

Dark Souls 3 is the only game i've managed to finish and yet i mostly didn't notice the music in the background apart from Soul Of Cinder but when you put the music alone, it really speaks for the quality of the games. for a long time i always thought that The Burnt Ivory King was the penultimate dark souls boss, if it were in a less clunky game it'd be one of the lal time greatest boss fights of video games, even being locked in dark souls 2's clunky clutches its still an amazing fight. then came the love letter that was Soul of Cinder, while not nearly as much of a challenge (or rewarding enough to beat) it was a true love letter to dark souls 1 vets... but then came the ringed city... then came slave knight gael, one of the unlucky fools who made it to the end of the world... Patches, the hyena, the spider, the treacherous, the trustworthy... a 'worthless' soul who was unfit to even burn... and a slave from the beginning of time, who trudged on eternally, even when the whole world ended... you gael are the perfect boss to fight at the end of one of the best series ever... and i hope someone makes a mod that adds THIS cover in that boss fight
