Spears come close to being the perfect solution. They have running attacks with long range that can reliably roll catch, and Rotten Ghru has an added bonus of poison which can proc through rolls. Getting a chain of roll catches and proccing poison for further annoyance is a pretty great feeling.

It's hard to keep this game from going stale after 4 years of invasions. I've been running a SL30 faith build. That is how low I've fallen. It's actually really fun, I can bring mostly blue estus and heal with warmth. I use force to protect my safe space. Do I die a lot? Yeah. But it's a different way to play invasions, healing mobs and pushing people around upsets the normal flow of the level, and it's interesting, which is the only way to keep things fresh. Protip: you don't need to have the stat requirement to attune a spell, so even if you don't have faith for force, you can slap on the priestess ring whenever you need it. Force can give you some time to do an equipment swap or make a break for it. A tool that has more functionality than just pushing people off ledges

Idk In ds1 a gank with TwoP kills you barely 20 seconds, you lose a minute at max of your time and you can't really feel bad when there was barely anything you could do to avoid dying 90% of times Toggles and dead angles are universal, and while tumblebuff is pretty stupid, just as when it was in ds3 you can just wait it out until it's not TwoD just like any DMB user I really don't see any correlation about the behaviour of the ds3 and ds1 "meta advancer" personally, especially in the toxicity aspect, could you argument your opinion further?

Dead angling was patched And toggling deals with a broken unbalanced mechanic the developers barely considered to be a thing It's not exactly as having a 99% unpunishable estus chug or being able to run forever in my book And yikes. You never faced anyone with a greatsword, katana, BSS, curved sword or spear do you? Even BKGA, Kumo and Zwei are very solid weapons outside of the fishing, while still being BS sticks GC staggered R1s are scary af, and its jump attack is a scary estus punish Asking the game with instant BSs and Passive Poise to not be backstab centered is pretty naive imo, and it's nowhere near a problem as the ds3 glitches Since you can play just as well without toggling, tumblebuffing or perma stunlocking people, while still being able to not be at a complete disadvantage while facing the aforementioned glitches I wouldn't say the same in ds3

Not that it doesn't have piece of shit gankers and invaders running around to begin with, but the people who actually just play it to have a good time unfortunately don't tend to hang around very long.
