Lots of people dont realize how good the story actually is in these games. From Software put nearly as much thought into the lore as they do the amazing level design.

Big difference between "story" and lore. The lore is all there, but the story itself is just meh.

I don't think story in Souls games is particularly good. I think the lore is great, but that's not story necessarily. If so much of your "story" is missable, that's pretty poor story telling, honestly. They do so much well, and I appreciate that they are subdued, gameplay focused games, with a ton of shit to read; however, story is not something I consider them good at.

Thanks for putting this up Andy, beat this game at the start of the year and it’s nice to have a way to experience the added lore as a community. Loved the game but like you, wasn’t sure on much of what was actually going on and this is a great addition. Have checked out the original vids to give them the views too! I have since beat DS2 and don’t believe you should skip it!

Great vid! I am a long time souls veteran and I had no idea Petrus was actually an evil dick. Also, in the Painted World, behind the dragon that spews acid, are his legs. They stop you from progressing, but if you hit them with a jumping attack, it causes them to awkwardly stand up. You can then walk between it's legs for a quick shortcut to Priscilla.

Im a bit late, but the age of dark is actually just the dragon lineage taking over, in oolacile the darkness corrupted the humans, and with the gods without flame, the serpents gets back their world, I only pieced that now.

The video about the 2 endings is outdated, with Dark Souls 3, we now know that the abyss isn't what comes with the age of man, those are 2 completly different darkness ( there's even a third future age that we'll never see called "the age of deep sea" darker than anything yet peaceful....until some corruption shit that corrupted this bright future....R.I.P

With Priscillla, it sounded like your were just on a killing crusade. You should know by now that people or creatures that dont attack you immediatly should be considered (at first) trustworthy. 50:38 Dude trashes Mass Effect by calling it full of "meaningless choices", and after praising Dark Souls for "breaking the mold" he outright says it doesnt matter what ending you choose in this game. Talk about meaningless choices. I hate when people are so absorbed into one series that they just see anything else as less than while failing to see the flaws in the one they praise so much. EDIT: lol, I should've waited for Andy's thoughts before writing this comment
