your an absolute legend man I was trying to fight it close-up around its legs like you do with most big bosses and was getting super frustrated because I could not see its attacks in time to dodge but after this guid and now knowing what I was supposed to be doing I finally won and ended up having a lot of fun while fighting him

Yeah this doesn't happen haha, you seem to be baiting out loads of easily dodged attacks, what ACTUALLY happens when I try it is Manus goes fucking mental and just spams stuff.

update - cheated a bit, hired myself a tanky sunbro and just went crazy with damage buffs and pyromancies. He goes down pretty fast then.

It helped, although i used shield to block some magic, but real key is avoid his hand slam, also +5 crystal halberd for maximum DPS.

LMAO!!!!! Oh From Software. During all of Dark Souls 1, you teach us to stay in close range to a boss and back away when they do a AOE magic attack. And then they throw us a curve ball with Manus where you gotta STAY AWAY FROM THE BOSS AND MOVE IN WHEN HE DOES AN AOE MAGIC ATTACK! Here I am dying over and over again cause I'm so close to his c**k or ass like every other boss and keep getting pounded. I just stayed away like in this video and 1-shotted on my first try with the new strategy. I love this game. I'm not being sarcastic, I *LOVE* this game! It's so hard but once you learn (or just KZbin) the strategy, it becomes so easy!

Thanks :) Usually I was playing with strength build, so I was using Havel's Greatshield that managed to block all of his attacks including his magic spells. Even his 5 hit combo, it easly blocked everything :) I was just standing there and he could do anything he wanted, but I could block it all. Except his Dark Orb rain, where there are too much orbs falling down it completely burned my stamina and nearly killed me when standing still. So, guys, if you are using Havel's Shield you dont have to use the Pendant, you can just black it, but those black orbs go form behind you, you have to face it with your shield, otherwise it will hit you for a great portion of your HP, maybe even kill you. :)

Took your advice and equipped a greatshield. Best Decision Ever. Since im a strength build with medium armor my rolls aren't good enough to dodge a majority of his attacks. But the greatshield really helped me block about 90% of his attacks. The only thing that bothered me was the dark orbs wave he throws right in front of you, my blocks weren't strong enough for that so i rolled to the side and was able to take less damage... Dam Manus is by far toughest boss i've ever faced ...even with 20 estus flasks he gave me a tough fight. Was so happy when i finally beat him :)

ok i don’t know how i didn’t see your video for defeating manus but its the best. you make it look so much easier than it is. even fightin cowboys looks like he was struggling and he fought in so close. i beat artorious and then kalameet last summer 2022 so took a break after that but i want to continue and beat manus then gwyn and move on to dark souls two or bloodbourne

I haven't been able to beat him yet but there's one thing I noticed that I wanted to let you guys know. You need to time Manus' far-reaching handslam just like Artorias' jump attack. If u dodge sideways too quickly, he will change course and still hit you. You either have to time it correctly or back out as quickly as you can. Also don't try to dodge/block the combo up close. I feel like it's too big a risk cuz once you're caught, you're stuck in a 5/6hit combo. Which deals a shit-ton of damage. Another thing is, you don't have to time the pendant properly. Just spam it. Cuz it's reusable again as soon as the previous attack finishes.

haha so i tried my first few attempts at him and didn’t go so well so came back here to study lol. realized when he was doing paw slams i wasnt dodging backwards i was going sideways and getting hit. ill try again tonight lol

Lightning infusion removes scaling so your dex won't matter
