A point on the meta-chasing that was mentioned around 43 minute mark: I concur. Game: "Here's 700 different builds that you can have" The Internet: "Here's the optimal build. Use it or you deserve all the pain you can get in the game" (actually paraphrased from a "community creator" in Warframe community) Not only does the knowledge of the 'optimal build' make you enjoy your own gameplay less, it's also the constant threat of other people nowadays having some sort of free pass to call you a scrub or bad at the game if you don't have the Latest Optimal Build From Reddit. ...which is why I avoid Reddit and official forums etc. like the plague. There's nothing like using some character (or Warframe) yourself, kitting it and testing it over tens of hours, and finally coming up with a build that wraps up nicely and survives the end-game levels. And you did it yourself, no quick tutorials needed or spreadsheets that turn into just another working life; and what's best, chances are you probably had fun on the way -- even if the build doesn't turn out to be the be-all end-all build.
@Lunch0guy2 ай бұрын
Totally agree. For me, most of the enjoyment of those games is the discovery of builds myself. Even worse is when devs start balancing around those top builds so people who want to figure things out themselves are even more disadvantaged compared to those who look up meta builds.
