@@gorvercelvland2322 download dark souls 1 pvp overhaul, it will scan every zone in the game following the matchmaking rules (soul levels + weapon upgrade), and there is also a new item to scan infinitely upwards as well. You will invade everywhere at every soul level, you'll also find ng+ games with sl-meta builds.

And btw, a lot of people started late into PvP and if they simply accept the fact that backstabs are an essential part of the game, they usually enjoy it. I think it's easier to find random people at lower or above meta levels on PC thanks to the wex dust mod but meta PvP at Oolacile is much better on Playstation apparently. Encounters seem way more diverse and organic. I do like SL125 on PC but sometimes you keep matching with the same 4 people for hours straight and at least 3 of them are absolute monsters lol. Nice to see this variety of casual and sweaty encounters. Thanks for revisiting Dragon build btw, not many people showcase it and yours is absolutely the best. Zero poise with ultra weapons is just fascinating.

Thanks for your nice words as always, i had some luck with fun encounters at meta lately, but it's not always like this on PS as well sadly. I always like some ivasions with my dragon bro, I wish I had more good clips with this build but around 100 it's really hard to find people for whatever reason, this used to be different.

To my absolutely total but pleasant surprise, I actually managed to find some active online presence on the 360 version of the original Dark Souls as well, there are still people playing and I've found summon signs before capra-demon and in Blight town, so yeah if anyones playing on Xbox boot it up and see what you can find, the Series S/X framerate and resolution upscaling applies to that game and I haven't suffered a single frame drop even in the swamp of blight town, which in a funny way renders the remaster obsolete for Xbox players beyond the extra traffic :/

DS PvP Overhaul Mod makes DS1 extremely active. I would recommend this to anyone. Also once installed, it disables anti cheat. With that, you can download DS1 Gadget. Allows you to make builds from scratch. Just don’t manually change levels, drop yourself great hero souls, weapons, key items. And you can warp and unlock all bonfires you like. It made getting back into DS1 pvp from being a console only player really fun.

I think you're the one person who has kept me interested in this PvP. I use to play this when ghost strikes and move swaps were a thing and just generally had more fun. but that was way back in the day before remastered. the new pvp patch that dropped with that game just didn't vibe with me unfortunately ;(

Nah man we kinda need mechanics update. Backstabs are bs, poise is hugely overpowered, some spells are beyond broken, invasion spawns are terrible, the game feels sluggish for today's standards, if we're talking about a remake, there's much to fix.

If you don't like it, these games still exist for you. But I know that many people just want the polished games, with all the fun tech removed, because they don't care for learning all the fun and crazy stuff. ds1 has to offer

What is the best soul level for pvp, I have some luck on most of my builds which are between 110-125

With your builds you already connect to the meta around 130 so you're good to go, you even could go a little higher. SL 80 and 50 are usually good levels for areas before oolacile township

I have almost finished my current goals in the game and want to look at getting into PVP. Return to Lordran is also happening right now. Then I watch this and think I can't even menu fast enough to always quit game when I have ample time, what chance do I have against this! Seriously, any tips on how to get into this? I can't go facing players like this at the meta, what's a good soul level and rough build to start with? I'm ok at the game, just finished SL1 (no pyro) and am 2 deaths away from Deathless for reference to my skill. Sick video mate.

PvP is very different to PvE in a lot of ways. The fast swaps are helpful but not that important, I'd say these are the most important things to consider: - know where your back is and how to prevent backstabs (and punish missed attempts), thererfor you need to get a feeling for latency and think like a second ahead - know how to backstab, but not just that, also confirm your backstabs with kicks for example (to avoid whiffing, very important for big weapons) - level vit to have around 800 to 1000 HP at low levels, 1200 to 1800 at mid (SL 50 in anor londo is active and there are newer players usually), 1500 to 2000 at around SL80 to 100 and 1800 to 2400 at meta (around 130. It is totally fine if you go to 135 or even 140) - last of all, accept that backstabs are in the game and the key part to play around, and don't be afraid of losing or getting pointed down, it's just kids doing this anyway

I invade at level 45 with all my weapons maxed, and i get many invasion in Anor Londo, usually casuals. 45 is the lowest you can invade with maxed weapons, belive me, i tried.

The way you hound for backstabs is the most hilariously unfun way to play. Your parries are solid at least but not exactly top tier. The janky netcode combined with lag makes backstabs extremely easy to abuse which is why the remaster should've just disabled or revamped the backstab mechanic. Make it so players have to land a kick on the victim's back instead of just an R1. Solid video though.

@@namelessstranger1270 I mean for me it's the most fun to play around crits (backstabs and parries), and as cool as parries are, backstabs are just the more effective way to play. I can see why the opponent hates this way of playing, be it an oldschool player or a random, but if you want to get at the top, you need to know where the enemies back and your own back is in DS1 (btw I'm aware I'm not at the top and never intend to be there, I just want to play in a way I think is fun) DS3 for example never spoke to me and I even got into it before DS1, same with Elden Ring or DS2 later. Bloodborne is fun though

@@MrMashroom Again, with the janky netcode that the original DS is built on; it really doesn't matter where your back is in relation to the attacker. We've all been victims to "questionable" backstabs from multiple body lengths away. That's the norm even on the best connections. There's really no argument to be made. Backstabs are an easily abused mechanic in the original DS. Speaking as a PVPer for years and with experience in vicious backstab techniques. They're not good design; period. The hitboxes for backstabs should've been turned off in the remaster if they weren't going to do anything to improve the netcode.

And no matter how you talk about it, I think it's more fun and there are plenty of players who think in the same way, that's all that matters to me and I don't care if the latter games might be more beginner-friendly or better designed. If you really got them backstabs in ds1 down you wouldn't say that they just happen in questionable situations, netcode might be trash but you can avoid nearly all backstabs if you know what you're doing and if you get backstabbed you have made a mistake (the exception is lag but that's true for every game)

I would had loved to get more into pvp in this game but I didn’t pick it up until late. I was running into crazy good players who hard swapped to giants armor when they got backstabbed etc. I never got into those animation cancels etc. I wish I did but never had a teacher on all that shit

I never really had a teacher as well, many things just become muscle memory after enough time. I spent my first 500 hours at low to mid level PvP before even trying Meta, needless to say it was a different world. I copied many things from watching guys like harceru, spades or donkeydave and with time I used them myself

I ran quality in ds3 for a while so I just stuck with it. Do you think that’s a good level for it or would I benefit from going higher? I’m out of state rn but I think I had like 27 str and 40+ dex

I’m sorry but watching high lvl PVP of guys running around in nothing but Mother Masks and the body piece of Havel while carrying an enormous club and aiming for backstabs with a hornet ring is tooooooo funny. The pvp in this game is SO jank I can’t help but laugh at how these builds are build to abuse game mechanics. All FromSoft game’s pvp is jank but DS1 is a special kind with the backstabbing

I didn't say fishing was one dimentional, though. I'm a very accomplished backstab fisher in ds1, 3 and ER, in fact. I said fishing is the only viable playstyle. I said it twice because I am very aware of different fishing styles and tactics. Dark Souls 3, for example, for all its flaws and failures, has by far the most engaging environment for backstab fishing. The sense of accomplishment is further enhanced by the fact that it is not the most effective PvP tactic by a longshot. You do it because you are good, because you are stylish and because you enjoy the challenge.

bought ds1 recently. was shocked by that monstrous latency compared to ds2. (they charge 40$...) I cant understand a thing and react properly, everything is teleporting, backsteps>chainstabs, r1 spam, parry doesnt work, avelyn invaders on SL25 etc. but hey, honestly its fun and stupid, maybe Im just bad at this game who knows XD. P.S. should I even state that everyone use this PC duplication glitch that gives you 999 uses of a soul, 99 twinkling titanites in 2 seconds? HONESTLY, HOW DO THEY MANAGE TO SELL COMPLETELY BROKEN GAME FOR 40$ IN 2023 XDDDDDDDD. you dont even have to download the honest merchant MOD like in ds3.
