The games difficulty setting is in your build. You basically beat the game on easy mode with tank builds and hard with lightweight builds.

Yes but also no. The game's difficulty is mostly based on your build but there is no build that makes the game easy every Mission has a build that excels better than others.

Snail didn't "fuse" with Balteus. Balteus was an unpiloted, autonomous AI. Snail just got out of his AC and piloted a new version of the Balteus craft.
