I just found your channel and have watched all of the trailers from the first to this one in order. The improvement you have made in animation is absolutely amazing. This trailer is on par with the first three Volumes of RWBY in my opinion. The characters move fluently and the designs of Grimm and characters are incredible. I can't wait to see more!

o_0"" Wow that's a VAST improvement in quality, detail, speed, & fluidity.. compared to the first "Reveal" Try not to take this as an insult but have you considered redoing the 1st three videos of Team DARK after everything you've learned thus far? I can already tell that if you did remake them maybe Not Now of Eventually they'd rapidly become Vast improvements over their predecessors and further display your skill as a "Creator" Because As much as I like each character you've created.. especially the darker themes for each individual character's design or backstory in the case of Ashes which albeit super short was a very nice touch.. as it gave us some context on trauma that these Hunters/Huntresses have to contend with in a world that frankly isn't very nice to humans & especially to fanus.. when fighting MONSTERS that by all means and purposes want nothing more than to torture kill or use as food or worse.. You My friend Nailed this aspect in spades. Now I do have one suggestion character detail and facial expressions are probably something you may want to pay attention to more often.. people "blink" and many cases tend to "show" their emotions.. I noticed your starting to fix this from Ashes onwards though so I guess your headed into the right direction.. I If I may I think these characters would fit story wise Wayyy before the main story takes place or at least around the Time Roland first appeared a year before Ruby attends Beacon making Yang still a Freshman at the time. All In All Your Surprising and a Wonderful Creator I've enjoyed your TEAM thus far and frankly look forward to what comes out next, I would maybe like to see your Full Team appear in maybe a 2-4 part group mission and maybe "mention" getting orders from One of the Instructors of one of the Hunter Academies as a loose method to incorporate them into the "main-story" as it were.. but that's just My Own opinion.. No matter what you decide Know that as a fellow viewer I'm proud of what you've accomplished thus far : ) and you should be proud of yourself too. Good Luck!

I'm so glad this popped up in my Recommended. This is _fantastic._ I just went back and watched the other three trailers, and let me say, you have improved _so much_ over time. "Lone Hunter" was nothing to scoff at for a first animation, but it did have a lot of areas that needed improvement. "Crimson" and "Ashes" were each great strides, but this is insane. The style looks so much more like RWBY, not quite like it could be from an official episode like Mark Zhang's work with Team SLVR, but it also has plenty of quality that makes it unique, such as the impressively high framerate. I also like this character's design the most out of the whole team, especially the headpiece that resembles wolf/fox ears when her faunus trait is actually her tail. Incredible work, and good luck with future animations! On another note, is there anywhere that we can learn about Team DARK beyond what we can gather from the trailers? I want to know their names, their semblances, their weapons, their stories.... You've made some really intriguing trailers that have me hooked, and I'm eager to learn more. :) Oh yeah, and one more thing that's less related to praising your amazing abilities: This character's weapon reminds me a lot of one of my own RWBY OC weapons. It's basically a chakram that has six straight, symmetrical blades protruding from it, and they can spin around it rapidly. The weapon can also split in half, so its wielder will have three blades on each half.

Hmm, overall, decent work. The movements of the character are solid, though a little slower than RWBY but that's understandable. Design is decent for the characters, a little on the simple side but nice overall. Really I think you're biggest weakness is the sound design. When the Grimm get its head cut off you'd expect it to fall with a somewhat loud crash as opposed to what's here where it sounds more like a small box was dropped. Really the falling sounds for the creature should sound like there is more weight behind them since the creature is on the large side. The Grimm's design is a little odd since Grimmise always White and Black while this is red, though I imagine there is probably a story reason behind it. Overall I'd give this a 7.5 out of 10, above-average work for a relative 1st timer, but could still use a little spit and polish.

I definitely agree that sound design isn't my strong suit. I also don't have access to expensive sound libraries nor a sound studio with professional equipment. I simply tried my best with what I have at my disposal. I know that the normal Grimm type color scheme consists of red, white and black. Those Grimm also don't have the ability to regenerate massive wounds. The different color scheme used here is to signify that, its a different type of Grimm. Another example of a different canon Grimm type would be Dr Merlot's modified Grimm in the game, which use a different color scheme as well.

Honestly I couldn't say it better myself. that's exactly what I would say, the sound design is lacking, but then again, that's normal. sound design is hard to do for a single person, it's expensive, so it's completely understandable. The animation was - frankly amazing, the choreography was good - something however felt a little off, I can't place it, but frankly it was such a small off that it's kinda irrelevant compared to how well it was all done. in other words - it's not perfect, but I'd be damned if I didn't admit this is probably one of the best pieces of work you could do without a budget or team. brilliant work, Raxacory. you've earned a sub.

@@Raxacory You don't need professional sound equipment. I've made sound effects using my phone and whatever I can find lying around. Need to break someone's bones? Find some sticks, go to a quiet place, then record the sound of you breaking them in half. Do it in different ways, maybe break one over your knee, kick another one in two, bend them until they snap, maybe even use different kinds of sticks from different kinds of trees. If you need a free hand, have a buddy hold the phone for you. Once you've had all the fun you can stand, email the audio files to yourself, download them to your computer, open up your favorite audio editing software (mine's Adobe Audition, but there are free ones out there), and layer your favorite takes on top of each other. From there, you just play until you're satisfied. There's no right or wrong answer, sound design is an art just like animation, and just like animation, it takes practice. Don't be discouraged because you don't have the "right gear." As long as your creative, you have everything you need.

Gotta say, for a beginning, you have a lot of promise, and it's nice to see stuff like OCs and fan animations after most of the community has devolved into shipping war. A little late to the party, but it just showed up and that's freaking AWESOME. The Grimms are great, and this new one that regenerate? Well done, really well done The characters, expressions and attitudes are amazing (I mean, the stare on 0:30 is a badass move lemme tell you) and I kinda want to know more of them, like names and semblances and stuff, so I'm hoping we get that by description or by more animations The pace and movement have improved a lot (watched all the trailers in a roll cuz yea) and is amazing to see how better it gets from Lone Hunter to here. Fast battles with these slow movements make it more intense which is really cool The sound can get better ofc, but is way better than the first one. You're getting there It reminds me a lot of volumes 1-2 in general, needing a little improvement here and there, but is overall awesome and I'm really excited to see where you're going with them!

The choreography was great, the monster interesting, the weapon design was unique (as far as I’ve seen anyway), and in a twist it’s not the main character of the trailer that gets the kill. Definitely a fan team to keep an eye on. Keep it up.

Okay, I have just watched your entire DARK series and I've got to say, that's some impressive amount of improvement for about a year and a half. My original complaints were, that your characters were moving too slow and almost casually across the battlefield, but the flow of combat and momentum in this one were legit. It was pretty easy to follow what was happening, all the while staying exciting. The Grimm in this one may not be true to form, but that doesn't really keep it from being as awesome as all the rest of your designs, especially with it being able to stitch itself back together. There is just one small gripe I have and that is, that the guy from the Crimson trailer moves a bit sluggishly, like he isn't all that motivated to fight, though that might just be intentional, in which case I would be totally fine with it. So overall, man this is cool and you managed to pull this off as your fourth animation project? Truly impressive, well done.

That was awesome! I can't believe how much this trailer was gorgeous..! You definitely improved lots since the last one. The animation of course but also the scenario, the cinematography, the ambience... The scenery! Everything was leaps and bounds from the very first trailer... The characters by example were just amazingly done. Their movements were more natural, but what I'm the most charmed about is their facial expressions... Personally I think it was the cherry on top. Also, I just loved how you did the transition between the scenes. The moment where she passes out and we see her encompassed in the light was magnificent. But my favorite is when Team DARK comes finally together. I'm a sucker for these kinds of scenes... And the Grimm! What an abomination of beauty... It's everything a Creature of Grimm should be, and more. I could very well picture Salem putting this monster together somewhere down the road as she experiments more ways to conquer Remnant... Good job with this one. By the way, does it have a name? And if yes, what about the previous ones? Overall you definitely improved, I don't know what you've got in mind for after but I'm very much eager to find out!

Thank you for the motivating words! And yes, the Grimm does have a name. I've been referring to it as a "Blade Crawler". I imagine it to be a simple, common crawler deeper into Grimm territory. It's basically supposed to be the nightmare realm equivalent of the common Beowolf. This trailer featured just one of them, but normally they roam in a colony of dozens to even hundreds.

I've just recently found your work and it is quite impressive. The consistant progress you've made over such a short time is phenomenal. The additional sound effects in this one made the impacts feel a lot stronger. The part where she went through the tree was amazing! I felt that! As far as critique goes, I feel adding character vocal sound effects (grunts, coughs, moans yelps, etc.) would help improve the impact further. The most prominent thing on my mind is further work on the character models to make their clothes and such look more like their respective materials (cloth, metal, leather, etc.). Your fast-paced battle choreography is wonderful to watch and your Grimm designs are extraordinarily good. Animation takes a lot of work and you seem to be a quick learner and worker. Always feel free to take the time you need to get all the small details right. I know the vocal effects are usually done by the voice actor for that character and if you don't have voice actors that's perfectly understandable, as it costs money to hire them. I just thought that would help the impact aspect as well as characterization. Overall, your work is fantastic and you are a very talented and hardworking individual. Further thoughts: Focus on improving your audio before model quality. RWBY's first 3 volumes had shity model quality and we loved it to death anyway, but good audio mixing is key.

I love that her fighting style involves a lot of spinning, twirling and flips as it pairs with her weapon and is pretty and easy to look at thanks to her tails. This is what I missed from RWBY, everyone used to have a unique fighting style. Ruby used to use the size and momentum of her scythe to launch herself at enemies, Weiss had a fencing style repeatedly stabbing and parrying her enemies, Blake had fought stealthily from a distance and never getting close, Yang used to be a kickboxing tank with her receiving attacks and delivering them back tenfold. Now it’s all fast paced slashes with no recognisable moves

This. This holds SO MUCH DEVELOPMENT! The scenes are a lot more realistic, another enemy that is really good design wise and power wise, very balanced, and also more emotion and dramatic things during fight scenes. Though I feel as you overdid the blade noises a bit too much, there was clearly a realistic touch to it now, which make it so satisfying and that much more savory and just plain amazing! You could feel the power behind the hits and then some, you made the viewers feel more emotional attachment (I was genuinely concerned) and this was just really amazing! Your skills developed a good amount, and I honestly love this! Anyways, grade time! Design: 8/10! Lighting: 7/10! Attachment: 9/10! Expressions: 8/10! Final grade: A-! I see so much more improvement from your past trailers. Your color pallet has improved so much, your background placement, the scene placement is better. Much better oc design and a very well balanced character power gage is seen here that was missing in the first trailer, was slightly there in the second and was slightly improved upon on the third trailer. Along with the grimm design that was decent in the first two trailers and went down in the third but had now become even better then the first two well done on improving that. Very well crafted all together. Still also leaves much to improve upon as well. The choreography was also very well made, all and all you've done well to get better at your craft and are still improving. Keep it up and continue to master what you have created in these trailers.

Watching all 4 animations in a row, it's really impressive how much you improved. The overall movement looks way better and is faster, with each animation you had a better sense of character's weight and, what I think is the most prominent in this one and last trailer - much better fight cheography. The sounds are also better here, but still need some work. And you added outlines, eyy! This is really good, your character and weapon designs along with how they move and fight is really good. My only critique is with your camera. I can tell your a talented animator but a few times I lost track of where everything was. It could also be that you need to be careful of your coloring. Your monster is cool but sometimes it camouflages a little to easy. Your main character's yellow was a nice touch. Really looking forward to seeing more

I feel like the camo is a nice touch with the monster, since it probably lives there, it probably sneaks up on prey thanks to it, and makes it feel as though it belonged there. I see that yes, it does blend a bit too well, but yeah, animals are designed with the ability to blend in a bit too easily to the background.

1:20 - 1;35 BRUH the one shot sequence once the weapon was fully revealed was BADASS!! Action is incredible but to pull of a crazy long sequence in one shot IRL is one thing but to animate it?? Sure RWBY has decent one shot sequences but they don’t have the flare! Of course unless we’re talking Monty’s fights then yes his fights are gorgeous and compared to this fight? SHEEEEEESH! I’m s massive nerd when it comes to cinematography, action and such and this ticked so many boxes! Only thing which I’m not bashing you hard on is sound design. The first three trailers eh, but this was a great step up (yes I’m currently going to watch the rest!)

Now, this only really works between 1:18 and 1:44, but watching the segment at different speeds made me realize that somewhere between 1.25 and 1.5 there's a sweet spot that very closely resembles Monty's actual work with RWBY. So I downloaded the video and went into VLC to watch it at a more precise speed, and I found that this sweet spot is about 135% of the speed it is here. Now, the rest of the video is very well made too, and you deserve serious praise for all the hard work and effort that must have gone into this, ao I'm really glad the rest of the comments seem to be doing just that, but this bit right here is phenomenal. My recommendation for how best to improve with this project going forward would be to see how well you can emulate the style of this particular segment at that particular speed. Albeit with some touch ups in the animation and blur department in order to appropriately account for this difference, of course. Admittedly, I'm no animations expert, and I don't mean to sound as though I'm unimpressed with your work, because that couldn't be further from the truth. This was remarkable. But placing this bit as I've mentioned above next to Monty's own work really does show a resemblance, and if you continue to build upon that foundation, the only way to go is up. EDIT: Also, I haven't seen anyone else mention it, so I just wanted to say that the way you revealed the extent of this character's weapon's capabilities was subtle and clever. I actually have a character who uses a very similar weapon in a story I'm making so I'm impressed at how well you pulled that off. Well done.

This was so tight! You've come a long way! The fight choreography really flowed in my opinion. The biggest gripe I have is with the Grimm itself. While I liked the concept and how much of a threat it seemed to pose, it didn't really "look" like any of the creatures of grimm we've seen before. Overall though, I loved this trailer.

Very smooth animation and choreography: good job! The sound design might be a touch iffy(not a lot of weight or variance), but I imagine that's just a whole nother field to have to deal with, especially when the core is solid. I think the biggest thing the fight has going for it is that it's dynamic. Ebb and flow, different challenges faced in rapid succession that each feel important but not *artificially* so. It's a rare quality to find even in more popular fan works. Never mandatory, but always great to find.

This is really great! Character design is great, love D's weapon design, and the fighting animation is smooth and dynamic. One weakness is sound design; the music is too loud (and a little slow for a fast paced action scene like this) and the special effects are all a little weak, but visually it's great. Don't stop animating!

The only think that I think this was missing was some slow motion, perspective camera shots, and a little more on the music/sfx/volume side. Apart from that a gorgeous 10/10

I'm not normally the type to leave reviews/comments, but something about this really stood out as special to me. I've really enjoyed a lot of the fan animations videos that have come out over the years, but in my opinion, it feels like yours has a true understanding of cinematics. Something with the visuals vs the music flows better and is better utilized than most videos I've seen. This felt like something that at times had better understanding of the 'camera' and how to use this sort of medium along with the background track sometimes better than the main show will. It sort of feels like you did more with less. Stretched it as thin as it could go without letting any of the seams rip, ya know? And I really admire that. I'd love to see more of your work someday!

I like to think that this form of Grimm(fGrimm for idk fan animated Grimm) are like a regenerative type of Grimm that are healed by whatever negativity they happen to soak up. The movements of the characters look like ones I’d expect to see in the RWBY style, though a little slow and maybe a little stiff, but I really like it. I really wanna know more about the characters, they all have really cool looks. This makes me think of the SLVR fan animation by(I think his name was) Mark Cohen or something. Nice job!

I actually use the same software as they do for volume 4 and onward. However they use a expensive rendering engine while I use the simple, integrated engine.

Great choreography in the past two, you've definitely learned the secrets to showing a good fight: Both combatants have to be trying to win in any way they can. So movement is critical, and one side pausing for no reason makes it look bad. And things can't always go the hero's way, so seeing them adapt is how we learn about them. Great improvement overall. Interesting designs, clever choreography, better sound, more detailed scenery and actual interaction with it. You'll go far kid. 👍

First off; You freaking killed it. You have perfected Monty Ohm's vision. From characters, to animation, to artsyle and goddamn the Grim designs in all of them were spectacular! Second; Is "Sunrise" like the the one that gives the group hope? If you hurt her you're gonna die bad? Or was just how they always fight?
