@@that1_gemini I loved the plot twist of having Killian as another dark one. But I didn't like they vanquished Merlin so easily and what happened after. Back in Storybrooke, Killian discovered he was the dark one, and in minutes he blamed Emma and became a completely jerk. The good point of the show should have Killian dead for good after a epic battle with Emma: dark vs dark, and a final redemption. However, they continued, and the result was Robin been killed and Regina alone and suffering again. I loved the first part of this season. But I hated the Hades' arc after.

Pascal Fernandes this the dark curse and you can choose not wipe people's memories in season 3 snow was using the the dark curse and didn't use the memorie wipe until zelena hijacked and flew off like a savage

Godaime Tsunade Senju That is one hell of a good answer. The process to become the dark one was not done by evil act. In fact, she did it out of love to save Regina. Rumple love for his son or Belle is what maintained his humanity. Therefore Love is the answer. By itself, the power of the first dark one became the way it was because the person wielding that power killed out of hate. She did not listen to Merlin and thus corrupted the power. This is very interesting. It had layers and depth to the franchise. Thank you for your answer. I felt it was lame Emma did not look creepy but your explanation is great and totally make sense.

Maybe because she also didn't kill anyone. Nimue turned green after killing the guy who destroyed her village and that's how the dark one was born. And all the other Dark ones also killed someone in order to take their power.
