I'm glad they did an actual costume for the dark troopers while putting a little CGI on it.

Its impressive really... I wonder if Hollywood could do that when making a giant monster movie like Godzilla... make a giant monster suit but augment it with some CGI to make it look good... Japan did the same technique (I think) for the Colossal Titan in the live-action Attack on Titan movie in 2015. They used an actual puppet and then added some 3d effects on its skin, movements, and such... and boom, you got a Colossal Titan ready to destroy a wall.
@blazingstorm93513 жыл бұрын
@@tetsuonikurogane4375 that's why even though the movie didn't perform, you have to admit that it has a terrifying design for the Colossal Titan, but then again Hollywood is more dependant mainly on CGI than practical effects.

@@blazingstorm9351 except in Star Wars sometimes... Moff Gideon's light cruiser is actually a miniature ship prop that the Lucasfilm artists designed and made by hand. The same thing that George Lucas did with the ships in the Original Trilogy...

@@blazingstorm9351 With the Dark Troopers have made their live-action appearance, I do hope LEGO makes a Dark Trooper Battlepack but instead of just have the Dark Trooper minifigures be similar to the Battle Droid minifigures, they'd be like the Stormtrooper minifigures but with new torso and leg printing, new head or helmet, and also using that armor piece from the Nexo Knight theme but colored black to add the finishing touches....

The dark troopers look like the old and new version of cylons....
@CloneScavengerVulpin83892 жыл бұрын
In legends the first dark troopers were cyborg clone troopers (phase zero), then the next two phases were complete droids, and phase 3 was an exoskeleton/droid that could operate on its own if i remember right and/or with an organic pilot. While in canon the dark trooper project started humans wearing exo-suits then moved on with dark troopers that were all droid that being the canon version of the phase 3 obviously.

Yeah, if you're going to use CG imaging to try and emulate reality, spend all that time and effort creating a character or whatever in the computer, and then work towards making it appear less, "perfect," because the computer is naturally going to render immaculate models already, then you may as well just build real costumes and props and use the computer generated imaging to enhance in-camera models, saving all that inordinate time in the process. It's like when they were making The Phantom Menace, they worked so hard to create Yoda in the computer, and make it look, even to George Lucas himself, that it was a practical puppet the whole time, that they actually factored in aspects that were specific to the puppet in their final render. It's ridiculous, because clearly it's going to cost far more to create a character in the computer, as opposed to using a practical effect, and yet they still tried desperately, for whatever reason, to make it look as much like a practical effect as possible anyway lol why not just shoot the puppet in the first place? You know what I mean?! All that time and energy, and obviously resources, to make a vastly more expensive character in the computer look as much like it was a puppet all along lol instead of just cutting out the computer rendering altogether and just filming the puppet to begin with, it's really a wonder nobody realized how asinine that was, until years later, it seems, when it was being increasingly pointed out by everyone else, on the outside of the production process. They were clearly just enamored with their new technology and capabilities, all of which George Lucas himself was almost single handedly inventing as he went along in his efforts to realize his grand Star Wars vision, improving the industry in the process for all filmmakers. But, I don't think it's taking away from George's genius status to point out things that have been pointed out way before I came along lol and undoubtedly more eloquently, as well. 😇✌
