Glad that you enjoyed playing! I have two minor rule notes: (1) Water and road terrain rules do not apply to auto-enemy units (makes it easier to move them, less calculations); (2) only 2 units are selected to attack or defend in any combat instance. The auto-enemy will choose the 2 units with the highest attack or defense (depending if they are attacking or defending).

Thanks, Rob, for pointing these out and for designing such a great world for us to play in.

I love everything about this, hope you can make it available in bookdepository someday so I can buy it in Argentina.

I am a big fan of the Dark Venture Adventure Card Game, but I have to say I think I might like this one even better! It is a battle game at its core, but it still has that great narrative feel to it.

If you like the feel of Dark Venture, you do get that here...in skirmish form.

Thanks for the detailed explanation of play. Reminds me of For What Remains. I'll probably be backing this one.

Great introduction! Love this game's world. So vibrant.

Thanks! And indeed it is. So very appealing. And as I said in the opening, puts the fantasy genre into cold relief. Aside from Dungeon Degenerates I cant think of another contemporary game that goes so far as to create a unique vibe and world.

Delighted to discover Dark Venture with the help of your video. I love both Dungeon Degenerates and Cave Evil because they stand out in their style and setting and are also enjoyable. I would love to see some of the amazing OSR D&D fantasy settings brought to table top board gaming.

Glad you enjoyed the vid. If you haven't already, you should check out the main game, Dark Venture, which this game derives from. And you are making such a great suggestion: it really is a shame that the OSR creativity hasn't made its way into board games--with limited exceptions such as this one and a few others. I've been long wanting to get my hands on Cave Evil. I should renew my quest! Thanks for the comment.

I'm really interested about this game design and the world experience look amazing. Do you think worth the price? like how is the replayability? Also considering the expansion
@GeekGamers014 жыл бұрын
Hard to assess whether something is worth the price--that really depends on your budget for games, etc. As to replay: I only saw the demo which has 1/4 of the board and not all scenarios or factions. Given what I saw, I could have played each scenario (I can't remember if it was 4 or 5) two different ways, so 8-10 totally unique plays and then of course replay trying to improve. Overall, to me it has good replay value.

@@GeekGamers01 thanks a lot replay means that you invest the money in a game that can be played for long time considering that maybe re selling it will be hard to do it (is a quite unique game as art style)

when will this be available? will it be on Kickstarter?

It is on Kickstarter now.

32:20 final thoughts. bit torn on this. I would prefer a dark venture 2, not a silly skirmish game.

Dungeon Degenerates is a TERRIBLE game. Owned it twice thinking I would find a way to like it...strip away the artwork and the mechanics are CRAP.
