Nikki Roberts’ dream of a nightclub in Kenya falters when she is conned, targeted by voodoo attacks, becomes the victim of a botched cesarean, and is thrown in jail on trumped-up charges.

My point is: How would you call a country in Africa if you call another „first world country“? Third world, right? This is supremacim at its finest and so wrong but would take too long to illustrate why. Every change starts with youself, so yes, me and many others ( such as ethnologists, anthropologists, Phd’s in African studies, historians …) make the change! There is no first world and third world. Period.

Horrid. I would have been scared to have a baby in such a place. I would have gone home as soon as I knew I was pregnant. I bet she has bad PTSD from Kenya.

You may encounter such things not only in Kenya, but all over Africa. I made similar experiences in Westafrica. What really helped me out is, that I learned the local language, which was key in order to get respected ( and show respect by speaking their native language) and understood.

She was naive. As a local, when it comes to permits/ documentations , one has to do it themselves, never use a middle man. Even locals get scammed when it comes to this. And that guy Mof (sp) totally overreacted about the “voodoo” stuff, there’s no such thing , it’s all a tactic to scare people . She should’ve gotten security to guard her property to get rid of any trespassers. She was just too trusting 😢

Europeans wonder why Americans do not travel abroad as much as they do. There are many reasons, but one of the big ones is that when we leave our country, we leave all the rights our constitution has promised us. This is a perfect example of this.

Not what i meant at all, and if being imprisoned so the judge can take your business is a "rule" for the home, why would anyone want to visit that "home"? Any traveler should abide by the rules of the home country, but im pretty sure those were not the rules of that country.@shahidabdoullakhanzorovr1564

She is lucky she came out of there alive. As the Brits controlled most of Africa during their empire, I am sure that a majority of them are not welcome there. It's not a place to visit except on a tour with a reputable tour guide.
