Darken a Blade with Parkerizing

I just 80crv2 for the first time. I put it on my surface grinder and ground the bevels after heat treat. I couldn't figure out why it was so splotchy after the acid. You just said it may he remaining decarb. Thanks so much! Mystery solved.

That's it, 80crv2 is notorious for having a heavy decarb layer. Glad it helped.

Awesome video. Lots of great info. Just curious, why do you hand sand to 600 since you have to sandblast? Nice work.

If you're sandblasting (you're wise to do so) and the final surface is rough (as it should be)... I'm not understanding why you sand to 600grit. Otherwise, great presentation and methodology. Much appreciated!

Just carbon, it will not work with stainless.
