I just 80crv2 for the first time. I put it on my surface grinder and ground the bevels after heat treat. I couldn't figure out why it was so splotchy after the acid. You just said it may he remaining decarb. Thanks so much! Mystery solved.

That's it, 80crv2 is notorious for having a heavy decarb layer. Glad it helped.

If you're sandblasting (you're wise to do so) and the final surface is rough (as it should be)... I'm not understanding why you sand to 600grit. Otherwise, great presentation and methodology. Much appreciated!

are you able to parkerized a rifle receiver, if so can I pay you to, I couldn’t find anyone in Texas that has the skill to do this
