Best way to keep Dismas and Reynaud: No Crimson Court Only short missions They only do enough to get to level 6, never use them again Exept for final quest, for the acheivment, of course. I managed play the game like that on my very first playthrough. Dismas died at the very end, because I didn't know what was waiting for me. But him dying a hero is good for me.

It's a wonderful game about, I quote: "Making the best of the worst situation" It can be one of the most fun games you ever played, or a gruelling, torturous experience. Sometimes the game showers you with fortune. Loot and treasure around every corner! Felling enemies effortlessly! Other times it holds out just the thing you need an inch in front of your face, and pulls it away at the very last second, dooming your entire party. It's a game you can really immerse yourself in, every time your hero gets a lucky crit and explains that he/she is excited, you can physically feel his/her excitement as you sit in front of the screen, but this also works the other way around: "You ready a party of four trusted adventurers to be sent on a quest in the old ruins under the family manor. It's your first time going on a longer adventure, you have no idea what to prepare, how much food or medicine to bring. You pack a decent amount, and then it's Bombs Away! Everything is going smoothly, the combat, the loot, all is good, until a horde of skeletons appears out of nowhere. The party is taken by surprise as they have the upper hand. One punishing battle later, most of the party is heavily damaged, but as there are only 2 more rooms left to clear, you decide to use the last of your food to heal. As you continue, in the middle of the corridor lay a trap, unnoticed by the party. The mechanism is triggered as the cleric steps on the pressure plate. A moment later the party is in dissaray, every member is worn down, with no food left to heal, but only one room remains, you musn't give up now. As you continue a game message pops up: "Hunger" 'The party must be fed or they take 20% max HP damage' But they don't have 20%HP left. The only button on the screen you can press will let them starve, killing them all. @@kristofkoncz8634 Actually, that "but they didn't have 20% HP left" is inaccurate. Why? Because of DEATH'S DOOR! If a hero hits 0 health, they don't die immediately. They're put in death's door, and every attack after that has a chance to kill them, even if it does 0 damage. Being healed takes them off death's door, but a heart attack from teaching max stress puts them on death's door immediately, and a heart attack on death's door is guaranteed to kill them.

I fond myself shouting "NOT THE JESTER!" in the middle of the night. It's always the jester I take a likeing to, be it Vane, the first jester in my first CC playthrough that kept getting the curse every time I cured him and eventually just stayed cursed, Howard the reincanated god of my first ever playtrough (had an abom named Howard who decimated every boss and died to a random Shambler attack, the next week the jester named Howard arrived at the stage coach), or the guy named Hatchet.

With Dsmas collecting his helmet and sword. That candle... the flame... how in this short him stating he knew he'd likely not make it... Im actually really sad now. And seeing his helmet and blade next to Dismas as a sort of "we did it pal" and "hopefully I've made ammends" type of thing... lord Im actually getting sad now... RIP Reynauld. Your sacrifice was not in vain.
