34:31 - Mistake. The big number is what you need to beat a Blight. Take for example the Taint besides the Vampire. The Taint doesn't have any other numbers. The big 5 is what you need to roll to beat the Blight. The big 6 is what you need to roll to beat the Vampire. The other numbers are for Fight/Evade on end of turn. Also you forgot that every Hero holding a Relic is losing 1 Secrecy per turn. And you forgot to time down the quests and suffer the expire penalties. Anyway very enjoyable playthrough. It's one of my favorite games of all time and I played it quite a bit, but nearly not enough for how much I like it. I should take it out again soon and I definitely would love if you upload more playthroughs in the future.

I play this game with my wife in time to time. It might not be a perfect game, but ultimately what is important is to have fun. Also using a phone app that plays background sound effects adds up a lot of immersion.

Sort of! I actually left the game at that point and forgot what I pulled, so when I got back to it I just drew again. But yeah, editing fail :)

Agree! This second edition came out right as Victory Points went under as a company. Tabletop Tycoon owns it, so perhaps we will see another reboot at some point.

Honeslty I think this game deserve more credits I really like it and is quite unique... Ok in not the perfect game but I really enjoy solo or max another person.

I have my doubts since this 2nd edition didn't do too well with sales. Not unrelated that VPG began it's collapse soon after its release. It's a shame, because I love this game!

This is a fantastic, beautiful game. I sold mine! Generally very hard and rather fiddly, much to keep in mind. I did beat it one time in 20 minutes though.

@@OneStopCoopShop I miss the days when VPG cranked out games like crazy. Two other publishers with rough character like this are White Dog Games and Emperors of Eternal Evil. Worth checking out if you are looking for something very unpolished but thematic.

Yep. It didn't sell well. Its not hard to get second hand, though. I've seen it sold at online places for as low as $25.

The game has some flaws but I love playing it. I played on Sunday inbetween handing out candy to the neighborhood kids.

The game suffers from insufferable pacing. Either move or perform an action. Any card that says “activate” you spend your turn just using an ability. I had to house rule the movement to be less irritating. If all you do is move, gain that secrecy but if you want to sacrifice that gain to perform an action you may. Makes the game speed up and doesn’t really effect the gameplay too much. It is also next to impossible to get 3 holy relics to win, so I don’t ever consider it a viable option. You either use the holy relic to defeat the Necromancer or you lose. The game slogs on.

I won't play this with more than 2 players. I agree, moving once on your turn is completely lame, but a non-issue with multiple characters. I have won with the 3 holy relics. You kind of need to gear your squad and your game for that, though. Agree there, too. It's a flawed mess, but a fun mess. I'd rather have that than a well-oiled borefest.

@@OneStopCoopShop - Yeah, running it one or two player means the one action per character per turn isn't a big deal. Since you're running 2 or 4 characters at once. It's a decent way to provide more variety in character abilities, this game's strength, without slowing the game turn down overall.

Yes, this game is so cool, the setting, the quests, tons of different classes. But the 1-action-only economy kills it for our group. I've houseruled it so everyone has a free move, but you have to play to 3 relics then.
