Thx, well spoken about our inner journey outwards, among the best seen for a long time on gnosticism - The true story of gnosticism is everywhere, in plain sight but unseen for most, from the Sumerians, to Epyptians, many ancient poets or in Plato's stories on Socrates, Republic and Critos or... you know those oldies as well in the writings of many others, not to forget C. Jung, From and many others - gnosticism is as old as humans have paved the earth looking for a deeper meaning to life as love of freedom, yes, sounds real doesn't it, well, it is....erm, must be ;)

Thank you for this well-done summary on this complex topic. Please consider changing the title. I almost didn't click on it for its forboding tone. Rather, it is the path to the Light as taught by Jesus the Christ as well as Buddha, Ra, Hermes Trismegistus, Lao Tzu and other masters. It also includes the emphasis on Service to Others in reverance to the Divine rather than Service to Self. May your work encourage more people to follow this path,

Also looking at it as power is the wrong way to look at this. If you look at it that way you allready are not going to achieve that state of mind. The Devine is non duality; it is a state of no desire and no change; it is constant. The secret is there are no secrets. You already have this but you are constantly distracted from it. Think of mediation as giving undivided attention. So if you were to give undivided attention to God, self, or "how ever you wish define it" you will experience it. However this is not easy because whenever you look to the outside world you are looking at the projection of God. So we are always constantly distracted from it. Basically what most of us do is bounce back and forth between the state of being and not being. So the best way to achieve this state is by first understanding what meditation is as I just described; meditation is not just sitting in a pose or being centered; meditation has many different forms and the best form you will know is when you are focused on a passion or hobby. Think of how you focus (undivided attention, meditation) on this and apply it too "not trying to think." This is not easy and required discipline meaning you have to build a habit of practicing it. The habit is the structure that gives you the "power" you are seeking but when you realize God for what it is (he or she) you will desire nothing at all. If you notice the yogis of the Himalayas have many things said about them with the powers they have but never do they ever go around showing what they can do for a spectacle. I want you to really think about that; the most powerful human beings never just use their power for their individual self but rather for the sake off all if needed; and you will notice studying them that they rarely ever do this.

Watered down? Mystical traditions are world wide phenomena. Variations around a transcendent core. There is no competition between mystical perspectives. This no pure, or less “watered”, versions exist. There is some logic in seeking out traditions to which you are indigenous to better apprehend the teachings.
