Things got dark after 9/11. Partly coincidence, because that was when performance metrics took the humanity out of work, school, etc. and the show _Survivor_ (in my opinion) trickled the notion that getting ahead in life is a game of alliances, deception, etc. into the culture...plus the giant sucking sound of manufacturing jobs going overseas, the retail Apocalypse. But also the dark domestic surveillance state, idiotic TSA, and 20 years of war in XYZ place in the Mideast with devastating consequences on the civilians overseas and the U.S. military personnel physically, psychologically, and morale. The state of America now is precarious. And I haven't mentioned any of the current craziness. Just a couple of random things: - Almost 50% of the population in New Mexico are _functionally illiterate_ (not to mention numeracy statistics). - On _News Nation_ , just now, there is a former veteran helicopter pilot stating that he recovered an apparently non-human-intelligence-created "egg shaped" object as part of a retrieval program for the government. It's been rough since the 90's.

Very cool to see. I am a collector/dealer of vinyl records and VHS and crazy enough I scanned all the titles I could see in video, and there is not a single video or record in that whole place that could be considered desirable by any collector. In fact the VHS is so devoid of anything it must've been picked over. Nearly every title shown is a common, mass-produced title, nothing that I could give away, and certainly nothing saleable even if it wasn't damaged. Great video! Years ago I worked in a flea market here in Florida. I can tell you from experience, that old VHS tapes left to sit a long time, get moldy and brittle, so sitting for years in that building the first time you play one of those tapes, it's going to literally crumble up in your VCR and ruin the inner working parts of it. Nothing lasts forever unfortunately. All those tapes, books, even the records, all ruined in the heat and moisture from the floodwater. And yes it is very sad. The records were probably worth more than any of the other objects in that building. But it's all just a waste. Thank you for this sad and nostalgic tour thru this fascinating place. Guarantee a lot of those VHS tapes on the mid to top row still work. My current collection has been sitting in the garage for decades now, through all manner of hot and cold weather. Last time I tested them was around 2016/2017 and they worked. Picture was a bit degraded but it was still very watchable. These are tapes from the mid 80's through the 90's.

@freakyninja3545Ай бұрын
We aren't insignificant dude....we we're replaced by others. and we ask ourselves what happened to the ones that we're here? Well I feel like they got replaced by different people and all of the sudden we stopped caring basically.

I've never seen so many VHS tapes before, I remember paying $10-15 dollars for new tapes in the 90s, I had a thing for Horror movies back in the day, I grew a decent collection, which I still have stashed in my garage. I am sure one day VHS tapes will make a come back for a short while, because there are many movies that never made it onto DVD or the internet.

Dude, I feel what you're doing, so hard. I personally do the same thing, though I don't film. I've snuck into some abandoned hospitals and I found a whole neighborhood that was abandoned here in florida a couple weeks ago that my friend and I stumbled upon when we were skateboarding and had a blast exploring the different houses. I can tell with your mannerisms, words and expressions that I would easily be friends with you right away and wish we were exploring together.

Outa' Hand! and GREAT Find! [This one hit me Personally] 1 - I'm a direct descent of the "Loomis Gang" on my Mom's side of our family [As a kid, we even vacationed and visited "Frontier Town" here in New York] 2 - VHS Tapes! I had 2 different friends that own/ran them back in the day.. [Much of what was on them was never converted over to disk / digital format, so in reality, whatever was on Those Tapes has become ''lost to time' . . . ] As a life long 'photographer of abandoned / forgotten', I've always had the 'rule' of 'get in, do not disturb, photograph, get out'. But in a case like This One, I'd be breaking that rule, and trying my absolute best to 'Preserve/Save' those 'artifacts'! Man, this is just too friggin' cool! I'm both envious/jealous of ya, for sure! haha I seriously can't wait for this episode! Keep up the killer work, bro! And as always . . Thank You For Sharing!! 🤘 San -
