You could make the same accusation against Scripture. There's a difference between Tradition and tradition. Little aspects change, but if you keep the maintenance of Tradition a priority, then the important parts will be sustained with the help of the Spirit. I think the last generation absolutely failed at maintaining Tradition. The current generation MUST strive extra hard to restore what was lost. The restoration is happening in the American diocese. Don't know about elsewhere.

I believe that the chief celebrant and even the altar are not important. Clergy are given too much glamor in the Indian Church. Prayer and communion deserve more emphasis and I'm happy that these things are portrayed here :-)

Thanks for uploading. I wish the video showed more close-ups of the Altar and the chief celebrant. May be another prayer service of 10 min duration is desirable. A one-minute introduction would also help. K N Thomas, Kottayam.

Orthodoxy , its not a religion. Its a way of life. we can taste this through the Holy sacramental life. God blessed and giving us childs, then why should avoid them. Remember ,Holy spirits came in Our Father Moses sticks also. Martin Luther , he was not against child baptism. Study Protestant history.

Perhaps different to the common ear. But these are Sh'himo tones that have been practiced daily for countless years. I just wanted to point that out so that no one confuses this with the "new tunes" that are being created in parishes across India. Those terrible "new tunes" should be eliminated as soon as possible in my opinion.

I 100 percent agree with you, its more relevant today that we need to keep the same tune thats been practiced thousands of years

Just beautiful. Going to India in October. Hope to visit OTS if time permits. I wonder if the tune of the song "Mathru Vishudha" in 16:53 is one of the shuhalfos. It defenitely is not one of the regular tones from 1 to 8. If it is, can someone let me know which shuhalofo it is?

@indianbanker Thanks. I am trying to get hold of the shuhalopho's sung during ramsho. Please let me know if any such recording exists. Also, I feel that the shuhalophos are somewhat similar to the trisagion hymns? Would you knw about this?

Agreed. The new tunes take away from the "authentic" tunes that fit in with the ethos of our hymnody. Sorry for big words. But also, what is authentic anyways? Our songs have been passed down orally..who's to say it's in its original form today?
