Most ppl showing DG gear try to copy Nolly's sound and that's why there's a rumor between ppl who don't have DG that it sounds same with any bass. Nicki broke this myth. BTW Rick and Ibanez sounded unexpectedly cool for my taste.

@ageofatlas8732

agermi 'Tis easy, all you have to do is use the parallel output to get just the dry signal and the regular output on the B7K for the wet signal. ☺
@NickiTedesco
@NickiTedesco 7 жыл бұрын
Hello! The signal you would use from the B7K pedal is the XLR Parallel output. That is going to be the clean/dry signal. Plug that as your "clean/dry" input into Logic. Alternately, use the direct out or 1/4 inch out of the b7K and use that as your input to logic as the distorted sound.

What is parallel output? Does it capture only raw/bypassed bass output or only clean output of the preamp simultaneously?
@NickiTedesco
@NickiTedesco 6 жыл бұрын
It is a clean output of the bass signal. It is not considered true bypass. Thanks for the question! I hope you're enjoying my videos!
@jimclaypool2662
@jimclaypool2662 6 жыл бұрын
Nicki Tedesco thanks but I'm still confused. Clean output but it is affected by the preamp right? I mean the eq I'm using in the b7k. Only clean. Or it differentiate from distorted bass? And I can record both at sathe time?
@NickiTedesco
@NickiTedesco 6 жыл бұрын
It will be completely unaffected by anything on the pedal, so it's just the bass tone without any manipulation from the pedal. If you have changed something on the eq for example: the Low, Lo-mids, hi mids or treble, none of that will affect the signal that is coming from the parallel output. Does that make sense? The whole true bypass conversation is another one, but it seems is irrelevant in reference to your question. I hope this helps. Let me know, ok?

Wow maybe I should trade my fender urge for a p-bass... Haver you seen the Schecter Stiletto Studio Fanned Frets? I think it is in the same price range as the Ibanez, would love to see a comparison, because I didn't like the Ibanez sound, and I've owned an Ibanez bass with similar construction (Ash + jatoba and bubinga neck) but with cap pickups
@NickiTedesco
@NickiTedesco 6 жыл бұрын
What is a fender urge? lol. I think that was a typo. P-Bass is literally the original and will always be amazing. The jazz are great too. I love them both, but the P-Bass is my jam. Regarding fanned frets, I'm just not a FAN...get it? lol but truly, when you have to quickly get back to the first fret from playing up high, I constantly ram into the fanned fret at the bottom. I think I need to shave it down. But really, what's the point. Maybe I'm just USED to the good old regular frets. I feel like my playing style does not require the fanned fret, maybe for guitar players it makes a big difference because they are always up on the neck doing solos. lol :) and I'm not usually doing that. So...you should TRY the bass. I doubt I will get my hands on the stiletto for a comparison, but if I can get my hands on another one, I will do a review. Thanks for the input!

Ibanez makes some of the most comfortable basses to play on, but damn they sound boring with stock electronics. Changing the electronics really makes these basses come alive.

Spector hands down than the Ibanez. Stingray sounded terrible

I love the Spector, the Stingray is very high treble, it's great for slapping though

Stingray with ANYTHING that adds treble is a bad choice, which is most overdrives. I think it might do well with Bass Soul Food because it's such a subtle overdrive.

The p-bass sounded the best, the Spector was a close 2nd.
