This was exactly the type of review I’ve been looking for this pedal. Other reviews I’ve seen have just been a showcase of the sounds you can get when combined with other DG pedals, which is fine, but I enjoyed hearing your take when combining it with the orange head. I was honestly surprised as well to hear how it completely changed the way your Gibson sounded. Another great review!! 🤘🏼
@nihalnayak54834 жыл бұрын
I think this pedal is meant to be used along with the smaller Darkglass pedals, so that you get the clean tone along with the drive tone. It doesn't really have a point if you have one of the Ultra pedals.
@lahloonatic4 жыл бұрын
The ultra pedals have cab sims, and an XLR out. This is SUPER useful when you have flight gigs, so that alpha-Omega Ultra + Harmonic booster combo is KILLER. I use it all the time, with the Supersymmetry compressor.

My go to amp head is a Mesa M-Pulse 600. While I love the over all tone, never have been satisfied with the high end. It can seem dead to me at times. With this pedal, the highs really sing with out being harsh and it gives a nice boost to the lower mids. Really happy I bought this.

@@9999plato whats even more funny, is that since my comment, I bought an immaculate 74 alder ripper with brand new Duncan pickups had it set up professionally and sold it with a quickness. I think they look cool but don’t play very well. Not being able to solo the neck is bummer.

Nice job on this video. I watched a few reviews when this pedal first came out, and they all seemed to choose very scooped, over-hyped tones to showcase the pedal -- but no tones I'd actually use myself. After seeing your review, I still don't feel like I need one of these on my board, but at least now I think fully understand what it does. 👍

I thought it's sort of mean of Darkglass to justify their pricing with 'boutiqueness' (their drive pedals are so ubiquituous I'm getting tired of their sound), now they come up with luxurious 5-star semi-parametric EQ pedal. We'll get an all-tube mute pedal with a pretentious name very soon, mark my words guys

this! Defo seems a superior option than this pedal. Infact, its exactly what Im going to do. I have the X Ultra already. Im going to add the B7K Ultra to that and blend them together using the Radial 2:1 and run out Direct.

I think it looks like a great pedal.....if you don't already have an Ultra. Both together seems like it might be surplus to requirements, but it's a cool way to introduce some DarkGlass into a rig that doesn't have anything else like it.

@@antonycharest4719 johnkvintageguitars.homestead.com/Effects/Fuzz-ODs/Darkglass/B3Kfreqtest.jpg Precisely those you can see on the graph, what's noteworthy the "Fat" switch does not restore them. I think those are the frequencies responsible for "farty" sounds when distorted, nevertheless having them heavily cut makes the sound less full-bodied and organic.
