Dude. You come up with the best little riffs and jams. I'm always in awe.

Love the sound, but half the controls hidden kills it for me. Would much rather have mini-pots on the face of the pedal. The easy-remove back door is a nice idea for sure, so a screwdriver isn't required, but it's still a pain to adjust if you have it attached to the pedal board. I'm fine with internal controls for "set and forget" type parameters, but for a pedal like this I would definitely want to be able to tweak the blend and fitler without having to remove it from a board. On the plus side, Darkglass is pricing these mini designs a little lower so it's nice to see the bar of entry to Darkglass tones getting lower. Here's hoping the next release is a mini Alpha Omicron, I would be interested in that myself to have one which I leave on fixed settings.

Already got a few fuzz pedals, as well as a few darkglass pedals. BUT, I tested this at an expo Sunday and was blown away by how tight I could get the sound for double tapping melodic basslines! The rep even put on the headphones to listen and said "I think you need this! you sound like a synth!" and I bought one on the spot!

i recently went darkglass mode and i'm not sure how i feel about the two hidden knobs. at the same time... i'm moving away from the hx stomp and vsts to avoid endlessly tweaking things. this control layout might be the smack on the wrists i need to just play more
@funkingitup1805 Жыл бұрын
I know how I feel about hidden knobs. They suck. I love the tiny dials like Darkglass uses on the Microtubes X pedal. Admittedly, for live performance, a set it and forget it approach works, but for the vast majority of the time when you are either alone or practicing, dials are nicer to play with. I'd take the old pedal any day. I do think the look of the new pedal will appeal to the generation who has never known anything but Apple products.

I just got mine today! And, after adjusting the blend and filter behind the box, I can get fuzz tones backing up my slap licks! Also, the Fuzz side is very articulate and responds clearly to low freqs... Dakrglass kills it again!
@firemarshal26294 күн бұрын
This was never meant for the control freaks. DG have several pedals that allow you to tweak to your hearts content. This was meant more for gigging artists that needs a solid bass fuzz that will dial in one sound and let it rip.
@Chris-uu7oz2 жыл бұрын
What if there was a locking screw instead of hiding the knobs. In that way people who are afraid of losing the adjustment in a live situation they can lock it and for the rest of us who don’t give a shite can have it unlocked constantly. But hiding the knobs personally I find it extremely annoying

I tried a host of pedals to try yesterday, and I have been searching for a few months for a fuzz that does what i'm after. I had a few big name pedals, with a lot more knobs to play with to choose from. looking at this, but knowing how good Dark glass is, I knew they must have released it for a certain reason. Had to give it a try. it was instant. Just exactly what I've been looking for, for a while now. Amazing pedal. Blew the others out of the water; like, I can't even remember what they sounded like..

@@0008890 but it’s not simpler if I have to take it off my pedalboard anytime I want to change it 😭
@pCeLobster2 жыл бұрын
@@0008890 How is it simpler than just having the knobs on the front? It's literally less simple lol. You have to take it off your board, probably unplug it from your other pedals, find a pick, take that cover off, and make sure you're adjusting the correct tiny internal pot. I don't see how that's good at shows at all. Plenty of times at shows the sound is different from at practice and you need to adjust things like blend and the amount of high end. You might even do it a couple times throughout the night. With this pedal that would be quite a bit less simple than just having all the knobs readily accessible.
@00088902 жыл бұрын
@@pCeLobster Yes and no, I usually do not change a lot of setting on something as simple as a fuzz. Besides, it is way easier to access the inner controls than many other pedals, no screws and no tools needed

It's not like they weren't able to put 4 small knobs or 2 bigger concetric knobs on the front on this and on the B1K.....control layout wise, these two seem to me like Darkglass wanted to create some kind of Truman Show social experiment to see how much they can make their pedals less and less adjustable on the fly while fanboys still being hungry like hell for them

It sounds great. But I don't understand why they discontinue their fuzz and then release a new version 5 years later with half the knobs hidden. Why not just bring back the normal pedal? Or both? Or put the two smaller knobs on the front? It's annyoing. This isn't the kind of pedal where I think of any of the controls as "set and forget".

I think we know you've been bought out by everyone who sponsors your videos, especially darkglass. Honestly, if you close your eyes and just listen to the sound of the fuzz, it's not special. It's generic. Remove any mention of DG and put "Caline" brand sticker on it and it'd be sitting on the shelves indefinitely. Just saying what we're all thinking. DG needs something truly gamechanging and not just bought and sold youtubers fawning over everything they do.

You're perfectly entitled to whatever truths you think you're saying, but you don't even know me lol You say you've been watching for years, so you should know that I've been making demos the same way for years. I twiddle with some knobs, I play some riffs, have some fun and give my opinions. I'm not a content creator. I'm a bassist that enjoys making videos for other bassists. I don't make review videos that are definitive with a rating or a score, I make demonstration videos of bass products that I enjoy. You can call me dishonest, call me a sellout or call me whatever makes you happy, but I have never once given an opinion that isn't my own and I have never lied or purposely misled anyone. I tell every company before I work with them that I give MY personal opinions in each demo and that I'm not going to be dishonest about anything. You have no idea how many basses, pedals, etc I've sent back to companies over the years because I didn't like whatever the product was. I'm not going to waste 10+ hours of writing, recording, filming and editing together a video over something I don't like. I'm not going to waste my time on something I dislike. KZbin is one of three jobs I'm working right now and I can guarantee you that I am in no way "making lots of KZbin dollars". @@kellytostada9949The core of your comment is not wrong. What I think is that KZbinrs are easy on sponsored products because they want to maintain a healthy relationship with sponsors. This opens the window for biased reviews and in long term, the trust of the viewers in KZbinrs is reduced to nothing. Nowadays I'm taking any opinion around gear from KZbinrs with a grain of salt. I can remember pretty well another well-known KZbinr reviewing the DGMT Infinity as his "new favorite pedal". Surprisingly the pedal never made it to his personal pedalboard and never used it after the review.
