Clutch Claw and tenderizing could've been improved drastically by two simple additions: 1) Every weapon having having a quick clutch move, like SnS roll into clutch grab or Lance counter clutch instead of only a select few. 2) Tenderizing in one clutch attack or automatically making parts tenderized once broken

I don’t like having clawing onto the monster and doing the CC attack breaking up combat so much. It feels like you have to stop to do something else every 2 mins. I think the wounding mechanic in wilds is gonna be a better solution to provide a similar mechanic

GS for me since MHFU for 3 main reasons: 1) big damage numbers and landing well timed snipes that stagger a monster into the next dimension is very satisfying. 2) forces me to learn and master every monster's movesets to a greater extent than other weapons, which is transferable knowledge to other weapons. 3) minimal grinding. No need to build for each element/status, just unga bunga one armour one GS for maximum raw. And in the old games, minimal need to maintain inventory of whetstones, dash juice etc.

My most used weapons are SnS, gunlance, hunting horn, and hammer. I've started really getting into the bow and insect glaive as well. Even doing some light speedrunning with insect glaive. The SnS is my most used weapon. It's so good. It has some crazy high damage output and with the sheer versatility of it's moveset it has no bad matchups. People really do sleep on it. Nobody expects the SnS to do as much damage as it does. But the perfect rush combo really is that broken. I am right there with you with hunting horn. Hunting horn peaked in iceborne. I first fell in love with it in base world. I was so thrilled with the changes it got in iceborne. They really buffed the heck out of it. Hunting horn can be hard for some people to get to grips with because being successful with it is almost ALL positioning based. And in my experience learning proper positioning seems to be one of the things people struggle with the most. But once you learn it. Hunting horn is one of the most satisfying weapons to play. Solo or in multiplayer. Hunting horn is so fun to speedrun with. My favorite monster to speedrun with hunting horn is Ruiner Nergigante. It has a fantastic matchup against that monster, and is very satisfying to master that fight.

I love me some hammer, but i started my world journey with gunlance. I have somewhere between 800 and 900 hunts with it. Trying to hit 1000 while my friend and i crown hunt

YESSS HH my beloved it was my first MH weapon , took me a WHILE to learn it (specially since mhw was my first mh game) I went through all stages of it, mindlessly spamming self improvement, fully buffing every time i was slightly out of monster range, the wide range era, learning how to dodge against attacks... you get it Honestly my only issue with HH end game is that there's literally no reason not to use fatalis, and that kinda makes it a bit boring since one of most fun parts of hunting horn play-style is tuning the whole build towards monster weakness and choosing best weapon that has useful melodies vs damage vs sharpness/element I feel like its one of most loved weapons in terms of animation, while other weapons you kinda need to be accurate to angles you're facing, with hh the POSITIONING is the king. As long as you're within monsters head range, there's ALWAYS an attack you can do that will hit monster on the head. There's few things as satisfying as KO a monster with overhead slam or killing one with a flashy backslam on the head as you're casually weaving around

While I agree with most of what you’ve said, I wholeheartedly disagree with Fatalis Horn being the only viable one endgame. Sure, it’s damage is absurd, but it lacks virtually any solid support songs. Personally, I like the well rounded Blue/Red horns, but I too think picking a horn with the right songs for a given job is half the fun. Blue/Orange for Stamina and Defense, Yellow/Orange for elemental, virtually any Green for consistent Healing. Fatty’s got a solid horn but it would not be my first choice for almost any endgame fight

@@_Sp3cTR3_ Fatalis horn is perfectly solid. It’s probably one of - if not the - highest dps horn there is, esepecially if you’re solo, and it’s fine as a means to learn the horn as a general weapon. However, for other good, all-around horns that provide what I’d consider to be more useful songs, here are some of my preferred ones: A personal fave is the Demonlord Wardrum, furious rajang’s. You still get Attack Up, but the defensive value of Recovery Speed and Extended Health Recovery constantly regenerating your health cannot be understated. You can practically go without any other source of healing Any Red/Blue note horn provides an incredible combo of Defense and Offense. Also, Health Up L, can provide a sizeable heal, so long as you let its timer run out. For this I liked Royal Song Symphony and Fate’s Dirge, Jho’s horn A few more, semi niche horns to consider… Denden Doomsounder, rajang’s, and Auster Paradise, Shara’s, both provide Blue/Orange which gives solid defense and solid attack, and boosts your stamina Alatreon Revival provides an absurd amount of element, and an absurd amount of elemental resistance, great for dealing with Alatreon, though usually as part of a group cause dragon element is less than ideal Lightbreak Timbre grants Divine Protection and some Ailment buffs and resistances. Less broadly applicable but still fun, and useful if you’re running with a group of “ailmenters” I’m also a fan of the Green/Orange combo, which I believe Nergi’s horn has. It provides Earplugs, Affinity (I believe it’s the only combo that provides affinity) and, of course, Healing. I feel this is less viable late game, as Nergi’s horn is not spectacular, but the songs I like Now, that’s a lotta stuff to look at, but I hope I helped paint a picture. I recommend thinking about what songs you like more than what the horn’s other stats are, as those can drastically affect your build and playstyle. For instance, I didn’t mention any horns with Light Blue, but it provides a song that grants Evade Window Up, meaning you can go without using the slotting the skill at all, or be insanely good at dodging. Also, once you know what you like, you can craft your own unique horn through Safi All this said, Fatty’s horn is probably the best DPS for you, but if you’re not trying to get a world record that’s a lot less important. And, more so, it doesn’t help your allies as much, which could make a bigger difference. In my experience, I’d much rather bring a Red/Blue or Blue/Orange or a slew of different Green’s to the hunt than Fatalis’s Red/Orange because keeping my allies alive makes a much greater difference than dealing 5-10% additional damage. I’d even say that’s how the horn is balanced in comparison to its brethren. Pick Fatty if your only concern is dps (and you’re not hunting Alatreon, probably). Otherwise, and if you tend to take a besting as much as I do, other horns might be more suitable

@@_Sp3cTR3_ TL;DR, All that said, if you’re just trying out the horn for the first time and you have the parts to make Fatty’s Horn, just make it and try it out. However, if you can make a Red/Blue, like Royal Song Symphony or Jho’s Dirge, I believe that’s the best place to start. They are well balanced horns with plenty of songs to master but also relatively simple. Sorta in the middle, you get good value songs and good value practice for playing and stringing songs together

I have only use 3weopon since a rediscovered MH license with Rise and Sunbreak and now dealing with world and Iceborn and so and for that My top 3 is 1:Dual Blades : love the flows of the fight with it more on sunbreank then Iceborn for being honest 2:Sword and shield : The weapon was good for taking part of the new mechanics of Iceborn with clawn etc 3:Long sword: Love the design of the weapon but clearly agaisnt my mecha of dodging essentialy and not counter so in this weapon no a good chose

World was my first MH game, I really wanted to use the greatsword but I just was not patient enough to deal with the slow speed. I moved onto the Insect Glaive which was lots of fun, but I still felt like i wanted something faster. After trying out the Dual Blades, I have since then put around 1000 hours across 3 different MH games with just the DB, I can't get enough of them!

If you try to objectively rank the weapons by qualities like quick slinger access, 1-hit tenderize, a quick jab, decent burst DPS/topple punisher, good general mobility, quick sheathe, etc., I think charge blade would come out on top. But then again, if you love the game you’ll probably end up having fun with a lot of (or all of) the different weapons anyway, and your favorite will most likely be an aesthetic choice.

I started with MH Rise playing GS. I noticed the Hammer was a mobile version of it but I didn't think much of it until I played Lost Ark and made Destroyer as an alt. I fell in freaking love and it brought me to Hammer when I started playing MH World. I only wish the World Hammers looked a little more like the Lost Ark ones I found that putting monsters on the floor and breaking parts is my favorite things to do. Sometimes I do miss getting that tail though

One reason I'm not a fan of light weapons in IB, I'm not waiting a level 3-4 slot on something that should already be a thing. It's a blade. It should wound them in on CC attack. If there is an animation of the weapon's blade being completely inside them. It should wound. Glad Wilds got rid of that. Now I can just hunt the monster. And not fiddle around with a clunky mechanic. Nothing like aiming for the head to finch shot them. And get the hindleg on the complete other side of the monster.

I've been using the IG for as long as I can remember. Before it was released I used DB/LS exclusively, and since... Generations, I think? I've been maining IG and nothing else. It's just so satisfying to use, and gets better with every release. Worlds was great. Iceborne was phenomenal. Rise is comically good, and I can only imagine what they've done with it for Wilds. I really love it for MP as well, since I can build for paralysis (glaive), poison (Kinsect) and sleep (with my palico), on top of easy clutch claw antics (with CC Boost) and on-demand mounts to proc all manner of CC and keep the monster under my control control. No other melee build can boast such a consistent degree of annoyance. 😂

Wooooooah wooah woah. I need a poll. Which Hunting Horn do yall prefer; World or Rise? Me, personally, I prefer World. I haven’t dabbled with Rise’s system too much, so I may just be “Back in my day!” hunter mad, but I don’t like how the songs were simplified. I do think there’s merit to playing songs automatically, but I think the big finisher performances of world were much more satisfying Edit: I really like the complex and interesting note system, how that both affected the songs available and the way you wielded the weapon in World. Just playing two notes in a row and moving on feels like the death of the music and rhythm these weapons represent and I for one will not stand for it!…. If I may speak colorfully.. you get the gist

@@danielwaltz2759 I’ve not fully sampled Rise’s horn but I think I may agree. Generations note system was great, as well as song storing from world. If the two were combined I’d wager one would need to limit that storage to just two songs though. There is also the conflict of what song gets replayed when you’re playing multiple in a row already, but some combination has potential and is a great incentive to keep a HH user in the fight As for Rise, my main gripe is how songs have been simplified to hell and back. I’ve dabbled with the moveset only a little, but it seems to boast a fluidity that I cannot complain about. I’ll have to try it more

Hammer and LBG for me. I like to be supportive especially in multiplayer. I like to cc the mobs to other hunters can do the big dam. LBG i bring all of it cc ammo heal ammo demon ammo you name it im bringing it. Hammer is just fun but i get the hammer bro feeling knocking out the mon and watching ppl just beat it to death after a nice ko. I dont need to be the best dps i just wanna be the most cc on the team. Fk the horn i dislike it :3
