Why, I am an Alaskan and the elk hunting story is BS. There’s only a couple of islands on the Aleutian chain that you can hunt elk on, so this story is just a story. You sure as hell can’t drive there and there’s no roads and Campgrouds there either.

Actually there are elk up here. They were transplanted though not native. They are on Zarembo island in the SE and some in south-central I believe.

I’ve been living in Anchorage Alaska for 3 years now and the beauty of the state is simply breathtaking. However, noting that nature is so close by and ppl get lost in the forests and mountains are something to think about. I also hike but never into the wood or mountain simply because I don’t want to encounter a moose or a bear. Thank you for doing a story about Alaska.

I was born and raised here in Alaska, the first story sounds like a Kushtaka. Also, we don’t have Elk here in Alaska, except for two specific small areas as they were transplanted here in the early 1900’s, I don’t think that story is real.
