In today's podcast of Darknet Demystified we are going to discuss the various Operational Security fails and information security fails that a Darknet vendor and his two accomplices made, which ended up leading to their identification and arrest. throughout the podcast, we will also discuss in depth various topics of why what they did was wrong and what they should have done instead.
We will be discussing topics such as Darknet vendors attempting to extort their clients and how that will always backfire on them. we will be talking about controlled deliveries how they work and how you can defeat them. in addition we will also be discussing by having multiple identities as a Darknet vendor on the Darknet is completely useless if you mirror these accounts with the same information.
We will also discuss how the feds Outsource much of the time their investigation to third-party companies who do things like blockchain analysis for them.
In addition to all the above will also be discussing how there were third parties involved that were currently incarcerated in federal prison and how the defendants lacking any security whatsoever had discussions with these individuals knowing that the phone calls were recorded and still disseminated a ton of incriminating evidence because they thought their 10th-grade code would be enough to prevent the feds from being able to link them to a darknet vendor account.

This is an awesome series, Sam! Keep it up. I usually listen on Spotify, but I can't leave a comment there. I love your new podcast I have a question. If you answered this just remind me where. What is the basic knowledge base someone should have to be on the darknet? What kind of education do veterans of the darknet have? Where do you find the darknet bible?

"The Art of War" by Sun Tzu: A classic text on strategy, manipulation, and the use of power in military conflict. "The 48 Laws of Power" by Robert Greene: A guide to understanding and mastering the art of power and manipulation. "Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion" by Robert Cialdini: A study of the psychology of persuasion and how to use it to influence others. "The Power of Persuasion" by Robert Levine: A study of how persuasion works and how to use it in everyday life. "The Machiavellian Moment" by John Pocock: An examination of the political thought of Machiavelli and its relevance to modern power dynamics. Those are my favorites anyway. Not sure if you were talking about a specific subject or my favorites so I went with the latter.

Re: using customer lists as bargaining chips, the feds wouldnt necessarily automatically obtain old customer records after busting a vendor, if I were vending and had a desire to keep that info I'd put it on a veracrypt drive protected by a sufficiently long password to ensure the feds are never gonna crack it. That being said, i dont think the feds are all that interested in busting the buyers, and theyd need more evidence than just a name and address on a list to do so. Each person would have to be investigated which is a lot of work for the feds

Do you know if DNM vendors have to pay their bond fee every month? I’ve heard some sites wave the bond completely ($150-300) for established vendors. I thought it was a one time fee but I wasn’t sure. Thanks for your time brother. Really interesting stuff!

Saw your video about vpns. I share the same opinion, never put faith in strangers especially not into people who are using you for profit. But my question is (I am new to things about the darkweb) how could you simulate a specific geolocation for example when you need to be in sweden to bypass specific geolocation proves. A vpn would be an easy way but a shot in the head. Can you pick proxies in tor to get the geolocation?
