@@elmarnigmatullin4490 It's not like that. Kids in Serbia are used to hard training, and the most talented usually have to train the most, some of them train for 6 hours a day. The problem was that Joe Dumars drafted Darko without consulting the coaching staff. Larry Brown never trusted young players, especially Europeans, and on top of that, the Pistons were stacked at the C. All this caused frustration for Miličić who felt cheated and only worsened the whole situation. In the end, he got sick of basketball. He even told teams that he was bad for them and that he hated basketball. One of the few times where a player would’ve been better off going to a young team that was trying to rebuild. Denver actually would’ve been fantastic lol. I think Carmelo would have fit in right away, played at an all-star level and the Pistons might’ve got 2-3 chips during those years. Crazy how much one pick changes the trajectory of the entire NBA. Darko had it all. I’m not saying he would have been an NBA MVP or anything, but you know who he reminds me of. Obviously ironic, but he could’ve been a Rasheed Wallace type of player. Honestly similar frames, athleticism, could both shoot the outside shot, but were more effective around the basket. Good rim protectors. I think in today’s game he’d have more people around him for support, guidance, and perspective. He was young and he got in his head. Besides Wemby, Dwight, and maybe Towns/Odin…he was just as good of a Center prospect as almost anyone since. Ayton, Embiid, Thabeet, Mobley, Porzingis, Chet, Wiseman, Bogut, both Okafors lol, Brook Lopez, Zeller, etc… AD is a 4. Him and Kwame Brown, just were instantly put into a bad head space when they got to the league… they both had in incredible potential.
