The reward for beating hard mode is 10 Dream Essences. You do not need to train your Pokemon for the last phase in the other attack stat: the moves just change their typing. So while you are clickling assurance on Hydreigon for example, Assurance is now a special move so it uses Hydreigon's special attack stat to calculate damge.

If you are using Medicham as your turn 6 pokemon, psychic becomes a physical move so it uses Medicham attack stat.

Assurance becomes a special move after 25%, so you just EV special attack.

It is only accessible via the Dream Orb you acquire from beating the previous 7 raids. The strange chunks automatically turn into the Dream Orb once you have them all.
