Strife was tasked to protect humanity from extinction by join forces with Makers & other Human Refugees.

Death wasn't tasked do anything. He went by his own accord. And I don't think that Strife was tasked to protect humanity as well, since The Councile wants it gone, and he was hiding amongst humans in the 3rd game.

Darksiders 4 needs to be about Strife’s POV in all of this. War, Death and Fury each got their own games through out this series therefore it only makes sense that Strife gets his own as well. Darksiders Genesis doesn’t count because in that game the story is focused on both Strife and War and it’s a prequel before the trilogy. Darksiders 4 intro should start off with Strife explaining why he chose to blend in with humanity. While the game starts us off in an epic battle when Strife revealed himself to Fury before she teleported with the surviving humans she promised to protect. Obviously the game will end with him being reunited with the other horsemen leaving us with the final Darksiders game. It should either be called Darksiders 5 or Darksiders The End War
