Darksiders II Review

Lots of loot and a massive quest await for those who want to trying living as Death, but is it a sure thing?

4 hours into the Deathinitive edition and I'm really enjoying it. I'm enjoying how it combines different elements of various games, and the art style is really great

This game is amaaaaazing!! I love the first one but this one is bigger, better and more addicting in my opinion! This game is a mix of a lot of games I love: Zelda, Prince of Persia, God of War and Tomb raider...love it! Love it! I cant wait for Darksiders3!!

Well if anything mechanics like free running or puzzles are actually underused and underrated if you ask me. Still, I get what you mean. But the thing is, while Darksiders DOES take a lot from other games, it always adds its own touches. As an example, I don't recall any other game allowing me to lenghten a wall-run by vaulting over wall posts.

First time I got home with this game Played it about 6 hours straight I Think ive enjoyed this game more then almost any other this year

Yeah, I finished the first one and enjoyed it and I'll probably get this when I have the time to play it (just bought sleeping dogs). I just didnt expect an 8.5 after the reviewer spent the best part of 7 minutes picking it apart.

i find the funny part where he says, combat not to deep, can be done with 1 button. and yet if you play on the proper difficulty. you will be using all your skills. but then again what do you expect from a guy who abuses the stop time to pick a skill instead of mapping it.

I got it for the xbox because i wanted to play it on xbox but if I knew it was going to crash I would have getten it for the ps3. Luckly the game auto saves so im cool with it.

You both saw it before. THAT'S what it's all about. Look, I just meant that even if it DOES take a lot from other games, it's still a fucking awesome game. And at least, they add a shitload of stuff with each iteration, so they don't just sell you the same game each year for the price of a new one

I do fully support that last sentence. It's the main reason Black Ops was the last COD I bought. But I also hate when a game just takes overused and popular or once-popular gaming mechanics. This game just seems to do a lot of that in tiny tidbits throughout.

the part where you talk about audio disappearing. i have played this game across countless platforms. and the only platform i found the audio was an issue was the ps3. it was almost none existent through the whole game. the xbox 360 version never had an audio hang up. the xbox one while streaming can have the audio go out of sync. but never just vanish.

Just listened to the heavy metal bible accurate "The Book of Revelation" bad ass music album from "Oracles Of God," this game is NOT Bible accurate. Not saying this is a bad game, but this is more like Heman, but you play as Skeletor LOL. Damn, that would've been cool.

This is a very horrible review the combat is great very deep the story is the best part and the boss fights are all very good some great if you like this kind of stuff demons the 4 houseman you will love every min of this game it’s a lot like the older god of war games with some Zelda and Diablo and some soul reaver to really best Zelda clown I’ve ever played LOL

Actually, I played the PS3 version and it appears all the flaws are there too, maybe except the crashes. The sound bug (only temporarily) And Death grabs onto invisible ledges, though maybe that´s just a design choice. Lol

Anyone else gets motion sick while playing this game? It's bad to the point where after about an hour I really have to quit playing in orded to recover. Motion sickness rarely happens to me, but there is just something about this game that causes it.. Damn shame.

the story was not meant to be great. most sequels are about what is currently going on, with the first game solidifying the story. this game takes place while the events of darksiders 1 are going on, and since you know what is going on in darksiders 1, you should not need a recap.

They must have patched the Wii U and PC versions because the audio has never cut out for me and the game only froze once and I chalked that up to having bought the Wii U version used.

I should clarify on something the reviewer didn't know or forgot to mention. According to Gamespot, the bugs and crashes are exclusive to the 360 version. If you have both consoles,DO NOT buy this on 360. Get it for PS3 or PC as these are the superior versions.

That's because 5.5, 9.1, 7.9 and 8.1 = 30.6 divided by 4 = 7.65 . I wouldn't recommend this game because Darksiders 1 was about War, This is about Death meaning there'll be 2 other games before the story will be close to being resolved aswell as Darksiders 1 being a bit tedious with the back and forth
