Some of us collectors are actually old enough to have bought that Sega Genesis game. That being said, it was a weird choice for a throwback and I personally am not interested in this wave (unless i see it in the wild and am impressed for some reason).

@@redhanded8367 I just unboxed all of them on my channel and believe that they are all complete junk. But the build a figure actually doesn’t look very video game. Ish and is pretty awesome compared to the other Darkseids out recently.

I did a live unboxing on my channel and had no idea what to do with those things until after I recorded the second figure. And you can tell by my channel that I am a seasoned collector… they could’ve done better with that.

I played the game once as a kid. It was cool seeing the Superheroes but yes the game controlled horribly.

There's no way to quantify or prove that "no one cares". I give credit where it's due. I was initially not super excited to get this and I'm sure I felt the same as everyone else that McFarlane was just forcing everyone to buy four figures with questionable paint jobs just to get a Darkseid figure. But, in getting all four (plus building Darkseid) I can say there's a lot of merit to these figures. The pose-able capes really help a LOT! I didn't put any of the effect pieces on them, and honestly, Darkseid might be the worst of the set. Short of McFarlane releasing figures that are actually sculpted to be pixelated (how would that work?), I'm not sure how people could've expected these figures to replicate the look they needed to. The only solution is "pixelated images don't translate to these types of toys so don't do them?", but I give them credit for trying to be creative. A helluva lot more creative than OTHER toy manufacturers that haven't changed nearly as much in 5 years time *cough* Hasblow *cough*. Besides, if anyone's going to criticize McFarlane for making figures with questionable paint jobs, why not finally shout out in one voice to stop doing all these pointless Frostbite, Artist Proof, Patina, Glow in the Dark, Jokerized, and whatnot figures that I never see anyone buy ever!

@@amaury7652 I didn't think the figures were painted badly. I just said it was "questionable". Maybe not the best word use. What I mean is that it was a concept that I could've seen a lot of people appreciate the novelty of the effort but not necessarily want to open their wallets for. I had total faith the figures's sculpts and articulation would be just fine, and I don't think they're bad figures. I do believe that 2024 is a win for Marvel Legends (which I also extensively collect) over DC Multiverse, but it should be plainly obvious to anyone that of the two, since McFarlane got the license in 2020, he's made the best superhero action figures on the consumer level. Let's stop pretending otherwise.

I love these figz it's the fastest way part of the whole team and if you're a sort of a customizer like I love doing makes it great add the long hair superman head we got before with big buck from dkr and put it on thhis wave body idk to each his own u know

If they released a standard version of this that wasn’t based on the game, it would be arguably their best looking figure. That paint job is incredible, but the pixelation ruins it for me.

So they had a good Darkside, mega figure idea. Thought let’s change it enough and cash in make it a build-a-figure, or perhaps the thought process was the other way around. They threw it in with a bunch of good Justice League characters, but crappy versions of them to sell to collectors. At least they threw in cloth capes to make things a little different.

I never played this game even though I do have a Sega Genesis I would get it because it honestly just looks good. But I bought a death metal Batman and a White Knight Batman because they look cool and I know nothing about those versions of the character.

Concept. Great. Execution. Barf. And what's so disturbing here is that a) this would have been a great color scheme (minus pixels) for the Knightfall Batman with Bane AND b) it proves McFarlane can do shading/paint and simply don't do it...except on this fig that many don't care for. No company is as awesome and infuriating as McFarlane.
