I'm just making the transition from Lightroom to darktable + Affinity, so was very pleased to find this clear and concise description of your workflow. Thank you.

Thank you so much! There's no guide, despite it being a decent program.

Sorry Erik for the late reply. I somehow missed your comment. darktable is a great program in my opinion. It has a few things that can be probably improved (a more standardized interface is one of them) but overall I find it more powerful then LR (to mention a famous sw). It takes time to get used to the workflow and interface, but I believe it's time well invested If you are looking for documentation and videos, I have built a month ago a darktable Tutorials Hub that collects all I write and publish on YT. You may want to have a look there. mel365.com/darktable-tutorials/

Wonderful video. Is there a keyboard shortcut in darkroom window that moves to the next image, like the light table window?

Thank you for this, I learned about a couple of features. Your video starts with Step #1 - Import, but the files are already on your hard drive. Am I correct in thinking there's an implicit Step #0 - Move the files from the SD Card then? I've historically used Darktable's built-in Import From Device, but I'm never quite sure whether I've created a copy of the source file in doing so, or if I'm editing the files in their original location.

Also something I'm unclear about, especially as the pre-editing stage seems significantly different to Lightroom.

Great video! Thank you Stefano. Come è possibile modificare questi preset automatici?
@StefanoFerro3 жыл бұрын
Grazie Marcello.

Display o scene?
@StefanoFerro3 жыл бұрын
Grazie ancora Marcello. Scene-referred e' la mia opzione

I see all your styles also move the image around. Is there a way to have a style that doesn't mess with cropping and lens profiling while keeping auto lens profiling enabled?
@Felipemelazzi Жыл бұрын
I noticed (and mildly disliked) that too. That's probably the "Lens Correction" being applied so we're safe if we disable or don't include that to a style

Wow, amazing stuff Stefano, the more I look at your tutorials the more I love them :D thanks for your work! Edit: I'm having some troubles downloading your styles, could you please help me out? (I left a couple of coffees paid for you ;))
