I tell a lot of novice artists if they want to get good at perspective, just try some basic animation for practice. You'll notice your mistakes real fast when you're trying to change the angle of something just a little bit for the next few frames. Even a simple walk cycle can help a ton

Another idea, although perhaps a more time-consuming one, is to Procure a 3D software, like Blender, and either make or -steal- borrow a model to study the perspective angles you want to draw, so you can use it as a reference

That is if you want your art to look like it would make sense in a 3d space. Many 2d art styles that are more abstract have certain features that aren't supposed to turn like a 3d object would, but that doesn't mean that they are "wrong". Many know the meme of certain cartoon characters looking weird from certain angles, but that doesn't mean they aren’t successful designs. In fact, sometimes it might even look better to draw something from a different angle than what would be the "correct" angle on a 3d model!

because this tip is wrong it will not help you at all,, a reference can help you 100x that this stupid tip. wth he want us to draw a 3d box with 2 different body angles to create one? now compare that to a reference, sure it can be a study but its not productive its time consuming
@Makememesandmore3 ай бұрын
@@TpDgreat ngl, my art looks wayyy better when drawn from references, maybe because I don't have to think about what they're going to wear and angles and stuff like that.
@TpDgreat3 ай бұрын
@@Makememesandmore yes :) for beginners reference is very important for practicing and collecting images to fill up your memory/imagination. for example your friend wants you to draw Keyleth, Keyleth? who is that? its keyleth from the legend of vox machina! so you gonna go and check it. thats the reason we can almost draw our favorite anime/cartoon characters because we saw them many times already. the point is we have to see it first to gather images into our brains. how can you draw a certain character, pose gestures animals if you didnt know what it looks like in the 1st place. but sometimes we gonna say, "but i dont want to keep copying characters forever, i want to create my own" thats when the memory/imagination comes in. change the hair, bring the cheekbones higher make the eyebrow thicker or thinner etc etc etc. the costume on the other hand atleast for me,its hard its really hard to come up with a costume you need to collect a bunch of reference. PS: im not that great of an artist im just sharing based on my limited experience :)
