I've worked in cartoons and tv shows for nearly a decade now, and it turns out that we had the best of it, in terms of money and budget and overall care and effort. Past the 90's it was just make it cheap and fast, but before they really spent big money on the productions, some had their own small orchestras for the original music scores, Batman animated and Ducktails were and example

@@venomtang I think "cheap and fast" also extends to video game music (well, maybe some producers, I guess) as well, over the years past the 90s. But I also think that there was a certain degree of pride that you were creating something genuinely fun to enjoy, in those days long past. I think that independent producers of media could bring back the glory days, but it'll take a whole lot of effort to reach that level, IMHO.
