I didn't know it, but "the Good Witch" ended up being one of the coziest shows I've ever seen. For lovers of period book/tv series like Anne of Green Gables, I have to recommend Emily of New Moon! I've personally never heard anyone mention this series, but the books were also written by L.M. Montgomery. Although I haven't read the books yet, I have rewatched the TV series for years. It's a bit darker than Anne Of Green Gables and has a little bit more of a spooky/mystical vibe, making it great for fall!

Emily of New Moon is possibly more well-known than Anne of Green Gables in Finland, where I'm from! I love the series, my Mum gave them to me when I was little and I just re-read them. AND I even found an unofficial fourth book to the series which was written by two Finnish Montgomery fans!! ❤ That one I haven't read yet. I hear Montgomery was very fond of Emily but had to choose to write more about Anne because her family was struggling financially and that series was selling better. Hope you like the series!

It is indeed a bit darker, like you said, but we Finns like that. 😄 I haven't seen the series, though! Maybe I'll try to find it. I do remember seeing Anne as a series. I've always felt there was more to Emily's story than the three books, so I was happy to find the "fourth one". But if you read only the three, the main story would have unfolded.

A great autumnal show for fans of Gilmore Girls is Ghost Whisperer. It is set in a similarly cozy small town and in a similar time. The main caracter works in an antiquary shop and can see ghosts since she was a child. In every episode she meets a new ghost and helps them find out why they are still stuck on earth and finish their unfinished business to cross the veil. It has cozy and creepy aspects and is overall great

Oh my gosh, I think Desi would absolutely LOVE this show!! The main character is a lot like Desi too-she loves antiques and vintage clothes, etc! I wish so many of the best fall shows weren’t centered around witches and ghosts though. As a Christian, I’ve decided to stay away from those. I love a good murder mystery though! 🔍☺️

I thought of you when I saw a Stars Hollow mug at Homegoods yesterday. Thank you for mentioning the Creepy Cross-Stitch book, I need it! I've been having so much fun, last year and again this year, turning thrift store prints into spooky scenes. One thing I've been doing for over a decade is host a Witches Tea. We dress up in our fanciest Black Hat attire and gather for hugs and tea, photo ops and laughter. I used to host it in my home, use my favorite autumn tea ware, but it's outgrown my cottage sized home, so now I reserve a restaurant room and we have the added fun of delighting all the folks who see a gaggle of witches out and about. I love autumn, and I love all your ideas, but I think it's also important to point out that celebrating a season or holiday is more about quality than quantity. Busy lives means trying "do it all" might be more stress than it's worth. I like to prioritize a handful of activities most important to me and concentrate on making those happen. If more happens, wonderful. If not, I can still appreciate nature's unfolding beauty and small things like a hot cup of tea, a cozy sweater, dancing with the falling leaves, and a library full of seasonal reading.

It’s packed with autumn vibes, subtle magic, pumpkins, Halloween festivals, cozy weather, fireplaces and witches 😍🤩 not in your face witchy but in a very unique way. And yes it’s a bit cheezy but it’s just so autumn that it’s a must watch for me.

Also I would definitely recommend Nancy Warren's cozy paranormal mystery books, particularly The Vampire Knitting Club. It's more of a fun book to read on dark autumn days rather than being about fall but being based in Oxford England it has a lot of rainy weather descriptions!

I'm doing Witch Weekends with my daughter this year. I got us witch hats (not too tall ones so they don't get in the way), we're going to dress up in black dresses and red-white striped tights, put gold transfer tattoo stars ✨⭐🌙on our faces and just do some fun things like baking leaf and acorn shaped sugar cookies, watching movies with caramel popcorn, dancing around to some funky music, making decorations and garlands, etc. Just for the fun of dressing up and making a show of it 🙃 I also really like to watch Amélie. It's set in late Augst to late September and while there's not much fall foliage going on the colouring totally makes up for that: all the greens and reds are super vibrant and intense. Coraline is also a great fall movie even though it's set in late winter/early spring (and you don't actually get to see much of the early spring, only at the end) but the colours, especially in The Other World are quite autumnal and it's quite scary too. Halloween episodes of Sabrina, the teenage Witch are also lots of fun to watch during the fall and Halloween season! (I do the same with the Christmas espisodes during Decemer.) Can't wait for the leafs to start changing colours! 🍁🍂🎃🧡

My husband and I just watched your Autumn Starter Pack (2024). Thank you for all of your ideas. We’ve written down some of our favorites to do. One is celebrating October 1 as a holiday. We do that already😊 One thing we do every year is to watch Fly Away Home with Jeff Daniels, Anna Paquin and Dana Delaney about a youg teen who has to go live with her estranged dad. It’s a tough relationship. She doesn’t want to be there and he has no idea how to be a father to a teenage girl. She soon finds comfort in a clutch of Canada geese eggs and helps to raise them. It ‘s the perfect movie to ring in fall! I know you’ll love it, if you don’t know about it already. Happy Fall, Desi and Jared!

For the mamas out there - The Iron Giant is a fantastic fall movie to watch with your kiddos. It takes place in the fall in a small town in Maine in the 50’s. Lots of autumnal colours and nature.

I think you would really like Only murders in the building. It's a show on disney+ and it's basically to old guys and Selena Gomez solving murders. It's so incredibly funny and cozy and it also has you on the ege of your seat. It's perfect for autumn,
