omg yes to the boo box!!! my bestie and i started doing that last year!! I got her pyjamas, a witchy t shirt, halloween candle, halloween socks, a little halloween decor item, a maleficent mug, cute halloween sparkly cup and some candies! I put it all in a $1 cauldron, covered it in spiderwebs and little bat lights and she LOVED it!! she also got me pretty much the same and it was sooo fun! we gave ourselves a budget of about $50!

I live in a small town in WV and we still keep to our traditions for fall. I loved so many of your recommendations and can’t wait to watch more of your content. We look forward to campfires, s’mores, outdoor movies, family gatherings to take turns stirring apple butter, pulling honey from the hives, and lots and lots of canning things. I love the movie Arsenic and Old Lace! Another old movie that I watch every autumn is Hitchcocks The Trouble with Harry. It was released Oct 3 1953. Entirely filmed in Vermont in the fall. The cinematography is beautiful! It’s a clever, funny movie. It should be on everyone’s Autumn list🎃

One of my favorite things to do in the autumn and one of my most favorite sounds is listening to maple leaves falling. When the leaves are just the right (big, full and not at all crunchy) the trees slowly release a leaf or two. When it is perfectly timed you can hear the leaves land in the softest of sounds, like the potter patter of a quiet rain. I lovingly call it maple [leaf] rain.

My favorite fall movie of all time is the HIGHLY underrated “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir” and it’s a gorgeous black and white film about a beautiful widow, the ghost of a sea captain and a quirky house by the seaside. It’s not necessarily set in fall, but the cool wind from the sea, the dark ambiance, sweeping sad music and the haunted house just do it for me. Please watch it if you haven’t. You will love it. 👻 🌊 🏡

Although I'm a truly and hardcore spring enthusiast 🌹🌼🌷, I really enjoy these autumn contents and videos as well! Unfortunately I suffer from seasonal depression so the darkest months of the year (November, December, January) are quite difficult for me... Not because of the weather (I prefer cool, rainy falls and cold, snowy winters to dry, hot summers!) but because of darkness. I can't stand short days and long, dark nights! 😢 But I really love the first part of autumn (September and October) because of the beautiful, colorful trees and leaves 🍁🍂🍁, the atmosphere and the coziness ☁🌰☔ and Halloween. 🎃 P. Thank you for so many wonderful suggestions. I have several I’m now adding to my my Fall bucket list. I’ve always hopped on the pumpkin bandwagon, only to realize every year that I don’t really like pumpkin spice (no judgement please 😊). But, apple or maple, that’s something I can embrace. Also planning on participating in doing the ghost paintings. Have you seen those all over social media? You find a thrifted painting and turn it into a ghost/pumpkin/fall filled painting. I’ve seen it done with lots of landscapes or house paintings and just yesterday saw one with a fishing boat; it was amazing. Just be sure the painting or print you choose is not worth anything. Try to find something that’s either mass produced or just a cheap one. Would be scary indeed if you painted over a valuable piece of art.

To add to your TV show list, I fee like you'd love Heartstopper too, if you haven't seen it already (currently 2 seasons on Netflix). It's not set in the fall but there's an autumnal quality to the story and aesthetics. Every scene is bathed in golden light and at pivotal moments, animated autumn leaves flutter about. 🍂🍂 The tone is very wholesome and lovely without becoming saccharine. Although some content is painful to watch, it adds the right amount of complexity without going overboard. And of course, British school vibes is perfect for September! I fell in love right alongside the characters and I think rewatching this show will become an autumn tradition for me.

A forgotten “fall vibes” family movie is “Stepmom” starring Susan Sarandon & Julia Roberts. Julia plays Isabell, the new girlfriend of Ed Harris’ character. He’s separated from Sarandon, with whom he had 2 kids. It’s Autumn in New York City, but also Upstate. Scenes of watercolor painting fall trees, school plays, moonlight horseback rides, and dealing with family obligations in the different settings. It’s well written, by Christopher Columbus, and honors his own late mother… and by extension maybe his stepmother? Very interested if others have seen it! Desi, you’ve outdone yourself in inspiring ideas for fall. Thanks for sharing another great video! Last week, I had to make a 10+ hour road trip (for a funeral) I set up your fall playlist and hit the road- had my first PSL for the return trip. Every year, usually in September, i start my rewatch of the Good Witch Series (First the movies, then the TV show) because i love it so much. It's so wholesome and cozy, some would even say cheesy, but i don't mind. It gives me good vibes and let's me forget about the problems in the real world. My two favorite books of August were Sense and Second-Degree Murder (a Jane Austen retelling) and The Cosy Cottage in Ireland. I really enjoyed them :)

I highly recommend building an old school living room fort! Put some twinkle lights up inside, add lots of cushions, get cozy, have apple cider and lots of caramel popcorn with your bestie, and binge Stepmom, all of the Meg Ryan (aka Queen of Fall 🍂) films, and Practical Magic. Bonus points if it’s a dark, rainy day! 🍁🍂

I missed the hair! I also just chopped off a bunch of hair and turned the blue into orange! It's my go-to happy color and it always has been. :) I have never heard of Boo Baskets, but oh my gods, but better bet that they are becoming a thing in this house now! I love it!

I love to watch Midsomar Murders in the fall. It's very slow paced in the beginning of the episodes but gets more morbid, especially the first seasons are really creepy but still in a cozy setting if that makes sense. One of my favorite shows 🧡🎃🍂

You need to watch Ghosts!!! (BBC version!!) It's about a couple that inherit a mansion in England, but ghosts live there too. The woman accidentally gains the ability to see them, and eventually befriends them. It's SO FUNNY AND WHOLESOME and the characters... omg they are everything. They will feel like family eventually. I can't remember if it's very autumnal per se? But it's a vibe nonetheless and perfect for cozy spooky season!! And you need to watch at least 3 episodes to get a good idea of the show. You can't watch one and go "nahh" 😂 this show has my heart ❤
