This story gave me goose bumps.. That actor .. The husband has some good acting skills.. I really hate him for lifetime.. But but but.. The real person who steals the screen is SHEFALI ji.. She is incredible.. Her eyes her face her tears.. Her dark humor all were bang on! She is an absolute delight to watch!

I loved this movie! All the actors were great and I can't help falling in love more with Alia each time I see her in a movie. Her acting is just so real that I forget that she is just a character. I also loved how they used the tale of scorpion and frog as the base for the story. The ending was also great! It teaches you the importance of loving yourself over others. But i just want to say one thing to you about the statement you mentioned along with the compliments for Alia that *Maybe she lacks general knowledge but* . Was it necessary to say that? I am a doctor and even i don't know so many basic things of the world but should everyone point out that thing before my accomplishments? No right ! I hope you understand what i want to point out. Not really, most of her "hard work" is due to her parents pre established reputation. Not saying thats a bad thing since, if you worked hard enough to make a name for yourself in any industry, you did like for your child to have an advantage against others but calling that Alias hard work would undermine other people who actually worked harder with more talent but were unable to make the cut. heck calling it hard work would undermine her own parents dedication that led them to that height in the first place

I imagined when she was shooting for highway movie by imtiaz ali even before student of the year and I had seen her pictures of highway, I was sure she would snatch away everything. Her eyes said she had that fire in her. But most important is she has the eye for choosing scripts that would make her & her movie work. Ranbir Kapoor is also same phenomenal actor but what he does not have or what he could not learn even through all these years in film industry is how to choose scripts. Alia is cleaver but Ranbir is not. Ranbir focuses on only his roles whereas Alia is clear about everyone's role.

@@anusuya_blissful no it may appear like that but that's not the actual scenario in an interview in fact in a recent Tamil interview she said most of the tym people take me as someone whos really good at selecting scripts but i m just glad.. Blessed in a way that all good scripts have come my way.. N the fact that i dont wanna let any of them go I want to do everything n anything.. N that's really helped... U must watch that interview... Otherwise she has some flops not so good scripts her way like Shaandaar... Sadak -2, Kalank .. She may have started selecting noww. I guess. But yeah Ranbir chooses his scripts n henece he has been risked quite a few times.. Besharam, Bombay Velvet, Roy are some daisasters..

Am I the only one who found Alia's performance just decent and not extraordinary ? Yes it was a dark comedy but there was lot more intensity required to portray Badru's immense pain and resilience after 3 years of torture. It seemed like another teenage girl who is kinda enjoying through her persistent trauma and playing mischiefs all day. Also the miscarriage scene was turning point but seemed so fastened up. Her transformation wasnt believable, she walked home & thats it. Just uttering dialogues convincingly and flaring nostrils isn't enough. Shefali Shah balanced dark humour and intensity brilliantly though, kudos

Alia bhatt is just an okayish actress..she just got lucky in terms of connections in the industry, got good directors who made her role look better. If she woukd have been an outsider she wont have reached to such hights, for sure

@@adrija8157 allow me to disagree mam, if that justification validates mediocre performances even Ameesha Patel had her way of suffering through Asthma in Aap Mujhe.. Nargis Fakhri suffered from terminal illness in Rockstar her own way.. However public hated them right ? If an actor who is portraying a character's suffering on screen but is unable to convey it to the audience, its an inarguable failure of his/her efforts. No selective perspectives work in that case.

In fact the most common way that people deal with chronic abuse is to go about life and act like things are normal.

It is so refreshing to see an abuser being tortured for once BY THE VICTIM. most of the times the victim is too glorified and portrayed to be just too noble and forgiving and then what you get in a film is the victim being toruted and in the last part of the movie, the abuser being punished ( rarely does it justifies the victims trauma ). Fortunately, over here the film leaves you fully satisfied and your rage calmed down. And for me, who always feels triggered by domestic violence, having to see something like this which REALLY gave the abuser a taste of his own medicine, is refreshing and commendable. Claps 👏
