I wish you could do something about Chicagoland Speedway, my home track. I’ve gone to quite few races, ARCA, Busch, Craftsman (never Cup, unfortunately). Hate that it’s storage and sold to warehouses now, especially since it sounds like a decent amount of drivers appreciated it. Johnny Sauter burning it down after his 2002 Busch win, at 5 years old, is forever burned into my memory

What a classic the Hardee's oldsmobile. Any of the oldsmobile paint schemes were my favorite. Especially the Wynns Kmart Olds with lake speed, Buddy Baker Crisco #88 etc.

I first went to The Joe Weatherly Stock Car Museum (at Darlington) in 1975 and it was set up way different than it is today. My last visit was probably around 1992 and it has changed a lot between those two times. Thanks for sharing.

I ,love all the stuff you guys do. I lived in Charlotte back in 1975 and worked on a project close to DARLINGTON. I toured the old museum and remember all the cheaters parts they had on display. A lot has changed since then and I need to tour that place again. Thanks again for all the work you put in to these history videos that nobody else has done.

I worked Darlington races from 1990 to 2004(SC Trooper working traffic). I knew that the museum was there but never realized how much history was in there. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy all your videos.

The two #87 cars used to be displayed at Griffin Motors in Florence on Irby street. The building is still there and is listed in the national register of historic places. Awesome content as usual! Keep em comin!

I am glad you asked about the artist. Very talented. Very good High school friend actually drove a Hudson Jet. The Hudson Jet looked very compact compared to Hornet.We car pooled in that car starting college in 1969. Many fond memories in the Hudson Jet. Great video , Thanks Mitchell and Logan.

That Cale Yarborough Oldsmobile was a great looking race car! That was my favorite of his Hardee's schemes. This car and Bobby Allison's gold Miller sponsored Buick were two of the best paint schemes from 1988, at least IMO.

Awesome museum! Great job showing us around. I've been there maybe 15 years ago, and a lot has changed. Think my faves this time are the 57 Chevy and Million Dollar Bill's #9. When they were racing for that at Darlington they posted bodyguards in the pits.

I was a young Marine in 01'. Me and my dad went to the Southern 500 in September. We had an absolute blast, and Ward Burton won that race. I bought some of hus stuff from his merchandise hauler at the track. Meet some cool people in the parking lot after the rain storm

Darlington is my home racetrack not far from where I grew up in Charleston. Been a NASCAR fan since early 80's but it wasn't until the 1989 Darlington Southern 500 that I sat down and actually watched an entire race from flag to flag, Dale Sr won that day after a pretty dominant run then he won the next 2 races at Darlington after that. I was watching that day back in 1992 hoping Davey would win the million BUT the rains came & ruined his day. Always enjoy going there to see NASCAR racing when-ever I am back home & have been in that museum every time...

Didn’t know we had lost Rudy Branham. He was on the racing radio show on 92.9 for a long time that covered racing from the cup series all the way down to the local levels when I was racing. Super good guy.

I’m From Spartanburg live in Greer now and was just there at the museum on the 10th headed to the beach for vacation, unfortunately it was closed. I brought all my vintage nascar shirts to pose with the cars (Phil parsons, Neil bonnett, Tim Richmond, Harry gant, Larry Pearson, David Pearson and so on) as I collect those shirts

Visited that museum @1987. It was cool then, and much nicer now! As we left, they were mowing the infield and left the gate open, so we walked out onto the banking, and were promptly thrown out LOL We had planned to have lunch at the Thunderbird Hotel, but ended up at the Hardees in Florence owned by Cale Yarborough.
