Well…. I’m a city dweller. Haven’t hunted or trapped in decades. Culled and skinned some rabbits, chickens. Hands on with a couple of small pigs. Been a long time but I sure am fond of squirrel and ground hog. I much appreciate the education about wild hogs. I can hardly walk well in my old age. If I were young again I would be right there with ya! Thank you much!

If you’ll get a bag of hog wild and pour it in a five gallon bucket of corn and let it ferment and pour some out with the regular corn it’ll draw the hogs in like crazy. That’s what I used on our hunting club off the trinity river out close to Houston Texas. I’ve seen herds of hogs in the hundreds back around the back water around where we duck hunted. I caught thirty hogs one night and we made our traps with a double trap door on each side so they could see through the trap and I’d let them get used to coming in for a couple weeks and I’d also bring scraps from home and put in the trap. That mix works as a great bait.

I know the feeling of got “um”. We had a RAT that terrorized us for 3WEEKS. Tried everything sticky traps, poison and flap traps. Stayed up for 3 nights watching the thing on camera (put the camera on the floor). Pest control guy came, after thinking about it he said leave the back door open, see if he will just go out. First night NO!!!!second night YES!!!! I screamed with relief. So, congratulations

Jager Pro says if the trap ever malfunctions with pigs in it, said pigs will not return to the trap because now they are educated. Guess these pigs didnt know about that! Glad you were able to catch them!
