Thank you for watching and for your patience. I do not know what is with my upload speeds this week. Normally, a video of this length, takes 10-12 hours to fully upload. This one was started on Monday morning, and finished this afternoon. Its never taken that long before. I still have 2 more from this camping trip to upload, but at this speed, it'll probably be early next week before they're up.

We have never been to Bryson City. We have talked about it before but have never made it there. We had reservations for the Great Smoky Railroad but had to cancel due to weather related to a hurricane coming to the area. We really appreciate the shout-out! Y'all are the best! Hope the peach enchiladas came out good! Glad they let you smell the peaches. Derrick, Are you a competition cornhole thrower? The sunflowers are beautiful. Looks like a fun place for sure. Wow that watermelon festival looked great! Love it when you stumble on to something like that. The dreamwhip and strawberry shortcake looked outstanding. We both love sweet red watermelon. We have a hard time finding a good watermelon. The fall festival would be fun. Glad to know this place is here if we decide to come down for a train ride. Thanks so much for sharing!

Thanks so much for watching, and yes, the peach enchiladas came out great! They are similar to an apple dumpling that she makes in the Fall, but with peaches. We really enjoyed them. I'm just glad we found a reasonable price for peaches, as I passed up the ones in GA on the way home from Florida. I wasn't about to pay what they were asking, but I felt that the ones here just under $10.00/gallon was a fair price. Bryson City is beautiful. We are actually thinking of doing the Polar Express train ride sometime during the Christmas season, but not for sure yet. We like to visit different mountain towns during the Christmas season, and are leaning heavily towards Bryson City this year. We did Dahlonega, GA last year, and loved it. But we want to mix it up a bit. The Dream Whip was one of the best frozen desserts we've ever had, if not the best. If you all make it to Bryson City, this is a great place to stop off. I'll tell you one thing...That's the last time I wear a black shirt in a video. White lint or something all over it.

No, I'm not a competition corn hole thrower, but I love to do it. When Shawnasi's grandparents were still alive, we used to go to MN every year to visit them. They had a big family gathering at the farm on July 4th, and that is where I first played corn hole. The very first time I ever threw one, it went right in the hole. It was so funny, because my wife's uncle was telling me what to do, so I threw it perfectly in the hole, and asked "You mean like that?" Everyone thought that was hilarious. We did have some pretty intense competitions there, and I usually came out on top. She would have family also who came up there from TX during that time, and one guy from there and myself, usually were the best at it. I always said I felt proud to go up to MN and beat them at their own game...LOL. I think its pretty popular everywhere now. I have a corn hole set somewhere stored away, but this was the first time in years that I've actually done it. I tried to get Shawnasi to play me a game of it, because I'm still sore about that thrashing she gave me in miniature golf. But she wouldn't do it...Go figure.

Aww, so glad to see your sweet pups! You don’t have to worry about camping hair, we like you just the way you are! We have a truck from a peach orchard in Colorado that comes to our small town in Oklahoma every August. We buy peaches by the flat. They recommend tossing whole fresh peaches into ziploc bags and freezing them. They’re great for using In winter. The skins slip right off, and you can make a pancake topping or just eat defrosted in a bowl. Bet that would would work for your enchilada sauce! Woof to the pups 🐾
@NCMemoryMakers2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a great idea to preserve the peaches. Also sounds great as a pancake topping. Yes, the dogs enjoy traveling with us when they can. Especially camping, since we're outside most of the time. Thanks for watching and your kind words.

Neat place. Was just browsing the Cherokee area on Google maps and then looked at Bryson City. My mom and dad and I used to camp at the old Wagon Wheel campground there in Cherokee across the street from what used to be Frontier Land Theme Park, where Harrah's is now.
@NCMemoryMakers2 жыл бұрын
I have many fond memories from Frontier Land. Went many times as a child, and I believe I remember the Wagon Wheel, as well. We used to stay at the El Camino motel right next to Frontier Land, and I remember hearing the train from outside the motel.

This looks like a cute place. She did say the dream whip is dairy free. I would have been surprised if Shawnasi did not order pineapple, they sure did look good. My grandson and I are planning on a trip to the mountains the first week in Oct. maybe we can get to go there. Shawnasi, your hair looked just fine, it always does. Derrick, you didn't get the guy doing the kick but he could sure move his feet. Looked like a fun time.
@NCMemoryMakers2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I wasn't sure if I had been recording when he was still doing that. It was the guy in the red shirt on the far left, with the long black hair. I apparently didn't start recording until afterwards. I guess I didn't hear her say that it was dairy free when I was recording, but she did say it. That was some amazing stuff. If you go there in a few weeks and you decide to try that, let me know what you think. Shawnasi loved the pineapple whip, but ironically, didn't care for the frozen chunks of pineapple as much as she liked the blackberries in it. I loved the frozen watermelon chunks. They will let you mix and match. Hope you and your grandson have a great trip!

Will have to check this Farm out next time we are in Bryson City. We also took the train to Dillsboro and ate at a really good BBQ place. This was before covid so not sure if it still exists. Love watching you both!

Was the BBQ place called Haywood Smokehouse, by any chance? They have one in Waynesville and Dillsboro, and we've done reviews at both of them. So glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks so much for watching!

Sounds like the next video we will be posting tomorrow...We went to an Amish store in Tennessee this past Saturday, and got many bakery items, and yes, deli sandwiches. Thanks for the suggestion. Next time we're over that way, we will definitely check it out.

I came back over to see Zeb Ross after your Maggie valley ice sculpting video. I wonder if you changed the tittle of this, more folks could find it. Seems folks are looking for videos of him. I missed it when the first video came out, didn’t know who he was . That’s neat that y’all were there.

I didn’t mean change title entirely. Meant add is name. Just a suggestion.
@NCMemoryMakers Жыл бұрын
That's actually a really good idea. I hope he doesn't mind us using his name like that, to get views. I made the change, so we'll see what happens.
@cumberlandquiltchic1 Жыл бұрын
Oh, he wouldn’t mind… it helps him also. Take myself… I found out through yall. Now I am searching the web for him. No harm done. He seems like a down to earth young man and is upward bound. It’s all good. You have a great tape! As you said, when you taped that at darnell farms. You didn’t even know who he was. You were enamored by his talent. Which goes back to the root of why I suggested what I did. I think it’s great! Y’all go out there and spend your time and money to bring us content. No worries. It’s a win/win!

@@cumberlandquiltchic1 I did make the change in the title. I hope it's ok. It actually was a great idea that we hadn't thought of. We tried to notice how many views the video had previously gotten since it was uploaded, and we're gonna try to notice if there is an increase in the views now going forward.

Id be curious, and happy!, to know. You see the Chinese ballon thing going over the US? I watch , Deep South bama mr Tom, on youtube. I commented there - something’s up. Maybe Georgia had a freeze and that would explain why they were so high.
@NCMemoryMakers Жыл бұрын
Not sure. Don't remember the Georgia crops being damaged that year, but it does make me wonder where Darnell farms got them? The guy at the place in Georgia, told us they had been brought in from Macon. So, I know they were locally grown.

No, we have never been to Harrah's. The last time I was on that property, was when I was small, and it was a western themed town called Frontier Land. I miss that, but have never been to the casino.
