I didn’t think that I’d hear anything more musically expressive than Daryl Scott singing with his guitar until I heard him in Charlotte, NC at The Neighborhood Theatre performing all of his tunes on a baby grand piano. Blown away all over again. I swear, that dude could coax music out of a hammer.

Thanks for the video. Pretty crazy how "country" can include this on the one hand, and Tim McGraw on the freaking other. I guess all genres have their extreme real music and extreme commercial bullshit for idiots, but this was awesome. This shows that what's played on the radio, of "country," is no more representative of real country, than popular "rap" represents rap. Every style of music starts out by people expressing themselves, and ends with suits. Luckily I have whiskey.

I wouldn't say "GOD" but I would say one of the best in the world in his genre of music. I play bass in a bluegrass/folk band and most people do not realize how heard this type of music is to play and pay well. You MUST know what you're doing or it sounds like POOP! If the group or individual are even a little off pitch, you can tel it. Especially if you' re in group, if even ONE member is off key just HAIR you can tell it. This is one reason most bluegrass bands stink and have a hard time getting signed to a good record label. Just my humble opinion. Which probably doesn't mean a dang thing! Ha! H! ha!

I have been lucky to spend time with Darrell in Nashville songfood. I came away from there with skills to write poetry, not so much songs. It's all good. What a great man. We had some guests, Mary Gothier, the great Guy Clark, and Beth Nielsen Chapman, I learned enough to gather my material for my book, and give it a melodious overtone. I am Scotty MacPhail from queen creek Arizona. I might sit in on one more. Thank you Darrell.
